Any new LM drivers
« on: January 05, 2007, 09:19:08 PM »
Anyone hear if we'll be getting any new latemodel drivers this year?
I've heard that Keith Mcleod bought John Gaunt's car and plans on running at Barrie this year. Anything else floating around out there. I'm getting bored with no snow to sled with
so I need some stimulation.....

I hadn't heard that one about Keith!!! I do think he was lookin to make a return to racing over the next couple years and if that comes this season great!!! He would of won the title in 2004 in my opinion, and the return of a classy driver and crew would be a welcome addition at BSW!!!!. I have heard Alan Inglis is converting over his Kawartha LM to run Barrie this year as well. The only other new face I think that can be pretty much confirmed is Herb Walters who at the end of last season purchased Kyle Donaldson's former ALSTAR ride and he is makin the necessary changes to run Barrie as well. What I'm really interested in seeing is where the former ALSTAR racers that call Simcoe County home will be racing??? Guys like Brett Murray and Jim Molenhuis, could be they will keep cars pretty much as is and run Kawartha Friday nights, or they too might be makin the changes necessary to run at Barrie or Sunset this coming season!!!

I would be surprized if Mcleod went back to Barrie after the way he left, the owners and other drivers sure don't have any time for him,so he would start behind the eight ball, but it will make for some good  racing and serious wrecking if he returns, its Barrie any thing goes.

Keith is a great competitor and his crew is second to none, so he would indeed be a welcomed addition to Barrie Speedway, and if you are reading this Keith, don't get me confused with joeyw.

The Real "Real Dodge" Returns.

I have it on pretty good authority that my brother actually has the former Mopar 25 and its VORTEC crate engine sitting in his garage. So it seems safe to say that the 19 is returning. Say does thing got a "Heartbeat of America" in it?

Mind you as I'm still in Qatar I haven't seen it with my own eyes but mom says she's been shown a pic of it on MSN :)

Keith is a good  racer and Barrie sure needs a few cars ,but l am also surprised he is back to Barrie, he left in a big uproar bad mouthing Coates etc ,then guess what  LOL , it could only get better if Stultz came back as well , he was the most exciting racer out there and was last seen jumping on Keiths hood, after Keith parked him in the feature at the end of the season.
