Ramsay Nails Down Two More Top-Fives

(Dorchester, ON) –Jamie Ramsay and the CANUSA Motorsports Team were back at Delaware Speedway on Friday July 23rd for another week of NASCAR Late Model action.  Ramsay and his APC / Total Lubricants / CANUSA Chevrolet Impala entered the night sitting third in the championship point standings, trailing only Ron Sheridan and Scott Lindsay.
The night began with qualifying, and Ramsay was able to pick up the pace from his time trial attempts earlier in the season, as he laid down the fourth-quickest time of the session, trailing only pole sitter Steve Robblee, Lindsay and Sheridan.  Ramsay said, “That was one of our best qualifying laps.  It should give us a good starting position for the first feature.”
Ramsay rolled from the outside of the second row, and quickly tucked into line in fourth-position.  He would race behind Robblee, Lindsay, and Sheridan, almost taking advantage of a Sheridan pass on Lindsay to move to third, but couldn’t make the pass.  On a late restart, Mat Box found his way by Ramsay moving Jamie back to a fifth-place finish.  “The car went away about halfway through the feature, and I know there are a few guys that are probably angry with me right now, because I bounced off a few guys going into the first turn.  The car just wouldn’t stay on the bottom.”
First feature – 1. S. Robblee, 2. Sheridan, 3. Lindsay, 4. Box, 5. Jamie Ramsay.
The CANUSA Motorsports team went to work on the car, makings a number of adjustments to the trailing arms and upper link of the rear end suspension.  Nine cars were inverted for the second feature, placing Ramsay fifth on the grid for the start.  Ramsay settled into fourth running position, and then passed Jay Doerr for third on lap three.  He would run behind Andrew Gresel and Matt Robblee, until passing Matt shortly after a lap five restart, but Steve would get by Jamie two laps later.  Ramsay tried to catch the top-two cars, but couldn’t, as he brought the #22 home in the bronze medal position.  “It was a good finish to the night.  We were ahead of both Lindsay and Sheridan, so that will help us in the points, but we gave a few away earlier in the night.  It was still another good night for our team, and two trips to the tech shack.”  Gresel held off Robblee to capture his first career feature win at Delaware Speedway.
Second feature – 1. Gresel, 2. S. Robblee, 3. Jamie Ramsay, 4. Sheridan, 5. Box.
Ramsay remains in third-place in points, trailing Lindsay, and the point leader, Sheridan by 82 markers.  The team will be back in action at Delaware this Friday, July 30th for a regular NASCAR Late Model show.
