I've only see Bill race once. It was this past weekend at Fall Colours. I thought he did an amazing job runnin that car...Very unfortunate he didnt get the finish he deserved. I only wish i got to see more races of him.

Here are 3 shots I grabbed of him, from his final race. He definitely went out with a bang!

I ahve met him three or so times vause me and Davey get along well and Beau Beau too. But i was jsut sitting inthe stands mindingmy own business after listening to his interview and Mr. Burrows goes bye and stops and says Thayne, great job int eh heat race, you deserved it congratulations. I was like WOW, met the legend three times and he remembers who i am and just seconds after his interview and an hour after getting walled in his last race he stops and tlaks to em and my dad for a minute. I thought that was super cool class act and Dave and Beau you gusy are lucky to ahve him for a grandpa.
Thanks for all you ahve done for the sport Mr. Burrows!

I watched Bill doing the interview also . When he walked away I saw him shake your hand and stop for pictures . That is very classy and thats the type of racer that gets my respect and admiration . Thanks Bill ! You are what brings fans back to the tracks . P.S. If you get bored being retired , we'd all be glad to have you back in a heartbeat .

my memories of Bill goes back to the Pinecrest LM days. He lived the closest to the track (Jane and Hwy 7 I believe) but was always the last car to arrive-LOL!!!! In a lot of cases, they didn't even put the car on the ramp truck but drove it to the track pulled by a chain from the truck. I often wondered if the chain was just for appearances and the car was actually fired up and running on Hwy 7!!!! I think the announcer (Ernie Martin)used to mention that "the races could start now that Bill had arrived!"

thankx for the photos danka
i just wanted to say that my grandfather has always been my racing insperation he has helped me out every year and with out him none of the borrows boyz would be racing today,he not only helps his family but many other racers over the years,he is a huge part of racing in ontario i will miss watching him race saterdaynights.i would also like to say that his last race was a real shame to have some punk kid who cant control his car took out a vetern racer like bill burrows, maybe one day he'll learn how to drive, but i guss thats what happens when u race go karts and jump in to a modified
-
who took him out?
-
oh-oh this thread that had a great start could start to go bad fast.
-
it was the 12 car he races at varney but i dont want to bash anyone it was a mistake
-
Remember the black Chevy Nova he raced at Pinecrest? He
had his own cheering section right behind the starter's stand
consisting of a gentleman with an air horn. I do believe he
won at least 1 feature at Pinecrest - quite an accomplishment.
The last time I drove by, i think there were still remnants of his
shop/garage on the north side of hwy 7 just east of Jane st. It
may be gone now, but was still there about 1 year ago.
Thanks Bill.
