Ryan Arbuthnot Battles to an 11th Place Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night; Steve Arbuthnot Gets Another Third Place at the BOS

By Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design

August 21, 2013

After a disappointing weekend last week that resulted in a mechanical failure at Brockville Speedway that ended their night early, Ryan Arbuthnot and the Arbuthnot Racing team were looking to get back on track with another solid night at the BOS.  Steve Arbuthnot also returned to Brockville for the second consecutive week with another round of the Ford Dingwall Vintage Modified Series.

Ryan’s night began with the usual qualifying heat races, and after starting fourth, he ended with a great second place result.  The team made some adjustments to the car before heading back on the track later in the evening for the 30 lap main event.  Ryan started from the ninth position, but handling issues on the car early in the race sent him back to 16th at one point.  As the laps counted down, the car began to come to life, and by the end of the race he was side by side at the line for the 10th position. Official scoring had Ryan in 11th place at the checkered flag, missing the top ten by two tenths of a second.

For the second consecutive week, the Ford Dingwall Vintage Modified Series was at Brockville Speedway and for the second week, Steve Arbuthnot drove his Vintage Modified to a third place finish.  The next race in the Ford Dingwall Series comes this coming Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway.

Coming up this week for Ryan Arbuthnot will be a Friday night event at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York.  On Saturday night, the team will be at Brockville Speedway.  Steve Arbuthnot will also have a busy weekend with the Vintage Modified, as he hopes to make it to Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night with the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club, followed by Sunday’s Ford Dingwall Series race at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Arbuthnot Racing would like to thank Bob East (Crew Chief), Tyler Lambert, Krystyn, Dad (Steve), Susie and Grandfather (Ron) for all their hard work and support as well as sponsors Valley Sales and Equipment, Pirie Insulation, 1000 Islands RV, Welch LLP, Finnigan’s Road House, Engine Research, Axcel Sports, Valken Racing, Finish Line Web Design, Number One Speed Shock Service and Bicknell Racing Products.
