10 different drivers visited the winners circle tonight at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 6, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – A busy evening planned on Adams Marina and Action Auto Parts Night at Cornwall Motor Speedway as five features including two 40-lap events for Modifieds were run before the start of the regular event. A total of 242 feature laps were completed.

Carey Terrance took the lead in the first 40-lap Jiffy Auto Services Modified event, a multi-car tangle occurred on the second lap as 9 cars got together in front of the grandstand as Alain Boisvert landed on his roof, with a lot of damage to all the cars but no one was hurt. Doiron sneaked by Terrance on the restart as Chris Raabe was running in third. Mario Clair had a flat tire and caution was out on lap 6. A good battle for the lead as Terrance ran the high lane as two yellows came out before we hit the 10-lap mark. The event picked a good pace as Doiron joined the slower cars with 15 laps to go. A lap 31 caution gave Terrance the opportunity to pass Doiron for the lead the #40 machine faded away. Terrance led the final laps to capture his second win of 2014 in front of Raabe and Laurent Ladouceur completed the podium.

The Tracy Wheeler Royal Lepage 20-lap Sportsman went next on the speedway as Jean-Nicholas Gareau led the way with Ryan Stabler in second as Mike Maresca took third on lap 6. Gareau had company at halfway point with Maresca taking lead over Stabler as Gareau was back in third spot. Maresca led the final portion of the caution free event and won his first ever Sportsman feature at Cornwall in front of Stabler and Gareau.

Eli Gilbert led the way in the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature. Gilbert to the lead with Rosco Garreau and Jocelyn Roy behind the front runner after the first caution slowed the field. Garreau was able to pass Gilbert as Roy was running strong on the top row. Roy took the lead from Garreau on lap 9 by passing him in turn 4. Roy kept the lead and won his first event of the season over Garreau and Stéphane Lebrun rounded out the front three.

The night started with the Laminacorr Industries 15-lap Semi-Pro feature as Derek Cryderman took the lead as Bruno Richard followed suit in second from his 7th place start. A heated battle for first between both cars as Richard was able to take first on lap 8, Richard sustained bad luck on the final lap as Cryderman went on to win his second event of the season.

The second 40-lap Jiffy Auto Service Modified took the track as Gage Morin was the early leader over Steve Bernard and Laurent Ladouceur. The veteran driver passed Bernard for second lap 4.  Mario Clair found something on the outside as he went in front of Bernard for third. The feature was running smoothly quickly getting to halfway with Morin, Ladouceur, Clair, Brian McDonald and Stephane Lafrance. With 10 laps to go, Ladouceur was on the backbumper of Morin; Ladouceur found some bite in the middle groove and took the lead on lap 33 as McDonald challenged Clair for third. Ladouceur led the final laps and won his first event since June 2010 over Morin and Clair.

The Mini-Stock Feature was the first event of the July 6th program as Steve Morin was the early leader. Morin survived several cautions in the first half of the event as he got passed by Justin Desrosiers on lap 7. Desrosiers led the last laps to win his second feature of the year.

The special Laminacorr Industries 25-lap Semi-Pro event saw Derek Cryderman to the lead with Pascal Racette in second. Racette used the inside lane to pass Cryderman on lap 4 as Bruno Richard was now in third. The yellow was out when Cryderman and Kevin Fetterly stopped in turn 4. Racette had Richard glued on his bumper at the halfway point. Richard was able to pass Racette with 7 laps to go as the yellow lights were out on the same lap. Richard never looked back and scored his third feature of 2014 over Kevin Fetterly and Racette.

Steve Bernard took the lead in the third Jiffy Auto Service 30-lap Modified Feature as Gage Morin and Brian McDonald were behind the leader. Bernard was in heavy traffic as Morin slipped by him in these conditions at the halfway point as Stephane Lafrance made his way to third. Bernard lost some ground as he got off of the fourth corner. The first caution came out on lap 20 as Laurent Ladouceur stopped outside of turn 2. Lafrance got to the lead on the following green as Mario Clair was strong in third. Chris Raabe joined the leading pack and jumped to second as Carey Terrance followed him in third. Lafrance led the final laps and captured his second feature of the year.

In the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock Feature, Charles-David Beauchamp jumped to the lead but David Seguin joined him as both drivers raced side by side. Beauchamp was able to pull away from Seguin as George Renaud was holding third with 8 laps to go. Seguin faded away as Renaud and Jocelyn Roy passed him. Beauchamp led wire to wire in the caution free event and won his first race of the year over Renaud and Roy.

A solid field of 28 cars took the initial green in the 20-lap Tracy Wheeler Royal Lepage Sportsman Feature. Jasmine David to the lead as she was chased by Mike Maresca and Justin Lalancette with 5 laps completed. Maresca took the lead over David on a lap 9 restart as Joey Ladouceur passed David for second spot two laps later with Shane Pecore taking third spot on David with 7 laps to go,  David slipped off the track in turn 1 and yellow was out on that same lap. Ladouceur gained the top spot over Maresca as Pecore was in third. Ladouceur led the final portion and won his first feature of the season in front of Shane Pecore and Ricky Thompson completed the podium.
