$1,000.00 TO WIN THRONE KINGS OF THE HILL SPECTATOR RACE
DELAWARE SPEEDWAY HELPS TAKE STREET RACING FROM THE STREETS TO THE TRACK

Delaware Speedway is proud to announce, with the support of local company Huron Produce, that the upcoming Throne Kings of the Hill spectators race on Friday, July 13th will be the first ever $1,000.00 to win King of the Hill event.

The message is clear:  the streets are not for racing, but race tracks are.

“At Delaware Speedway we are thrilled that companies like Huron Produce have come on board with this program,” said race director Jeff Wilcox.  “The money they have put up will help us grab the attention of the younger crowd and get them out to the race track.  It is imperative that all people come to understand that the streets are for transportation and not for racing.  The racetrack, on the other hand, is a controlled environment in which racing can be enjoyed in front of thousands of spectators: and there is no better place to race than Delaware Speedway.”

The Throne Kings of the Hill events have always been a fan favorite at Delaware Speedway.  Drivers face off in one on one elimination drag races from a standing start around the 1/2-mile track in street legal vehicles.

The Friday, July 13 Throne Kings of the Hill presented by Huron Produce is being set up as a benefit to the Make A Wish Foundation.  To enter into the race a minimum donation of $5 will be required if the driver holds a ticket stub from the top of the hill.  Without a ticket stub the minimum donation to the foundation is $20.  The maximum number of cars allowed is being increased for the event from 40 cars to 50 cars to accommodate the potential increased participation.

Vehicles participating in the event must be street legal, street driven, licensed and insured vehicles and have DOT tires.

Another local company, APC / CANUSA has stepped up for the August 10th Throne Kings of the Hill event, contributing $1,000.00 to that race.  That race will be known at the Throne Kings of the Hill presented by APC / CANUSA.

These announcements come as Throne Kings and Delaware Speedway prepare for the Throne Kings of the Hill Nationals on September 1st with more prizes to be announced for that date.

Racing on Summit Foods Night, Friday, July 13 will be the $1,000.00 to win Throne Kings of the Hill presented by Huron Produce and the Delaware Speedway weekly divisions including the popular APC Late Models, POWERADE Modifieds & Challenger Motor Freight trucks.  Gates open at 6:00 PM, racing begins at 8:00 PM.

Delaware Speedway is a half-mile paved oval stock-car track, located just west of five minutes outside London, Ontario, Canada. For more than 55 years, Delaware Speedway has been the home to some of the finest stock car racing in Canada.  Racing at Delaware features its four weekly racing divisions; APC Late Models, POWEARDE Modifieds, Peterbilt of Ontario Super Stocks & Challenger Motor Freight Trucks, as well as a Transmission Direct Enduro Division (short for “Endurance”) and the Krown Junior Racing League. The track also hosts many touring classes throughout the summer.
