I used to go to barrie for longer than most of you are old ,but i find myself drawn to follow walters because of the total unexpectedness of his driving. If i was a track promoter i certanly would want a guy like walters racing at my track.Even if he only drew an extra 100 people per night, the overall picture would be immense over a 25 or so nights of racing of an entire season.

The man who people love, or love to hate.

I think it says quite a bit for you when you can get that extreme of a reaction either way.

That tends to happen when you are successful. I've said this before.

Just the reaction here on this site shows how people think.

Hey SILVERSTONE!!! I think if you look at the records youd find only 5 LLM drivers from Sunset competed in every race last year!! ( Morrow, Walt, Tremble, Cicarelli, and Gallant). So if your sayin theres a problem with regular attendance at Barrie this proves that it exists everywhere. Even top runners Poole and Parsons missed at least one race last year there, and I'm not sayin theres anything wrong with that either. Lets face it racing is nice to be able o afford and compete but it is alright to take a night or two off in the season for family time as well!!! Just another way to look at it!! And I agree that there should be great racing at both tracks in Simcoe County this year. I am thinking of alternating this year between watching one week Barrie /one week Sunset, but only if Walters is running Sunset or it will be Barrie full time for me.

It's pretty tough to make 20 nights of racing and never miss one.

Other commitments, breakdowns and major failures, crashes, injury or sickness, there is a ton of reasons why.

I think if you make it out for 18 (90%) or 19 (95%) you're doing great.

I don't think attendence is a problem when you think about it that way.

Such as the new rule at Sunset allowing you to miss one night in june july or august to make life easier on the drivers, I believe Tremble ran every night from what i recall, and I know Vic missed a night due to a blown motor the night before at Kawartha and Poole was stuck at work thats why those 2 missed nights.

I wasn't  nessasaraly comparing the two tracks. My point was that it could/should have been better than that. Lets get one thing straight. everyone seems to think that I am this huge Sunset fan. The truth is that I attend both tracks and I enjoy both tracks. I will however stick up for Sunset when people out there that unfairly critisise the track. But it seems that if you say anything less than Barrie Speedway is the Mecca of canadian racing, people jump down your throat.

Just think of the super quality of racing we ,race fans, could be watching if they the two tracks could ever work together.    PS  +1
