Congratulations to Chris Morrow on the 2008 championship and being an amazing competitor to race with.

I would also like to congratulate Chris he truly is one of the finest people you could ever come across at a Speedway. We are all aware of the season long turmoil that has been created by the management of Sunset Speedway
in no way shape or form did Chris want to win a championship in this disputed fashion but it just about sums up the entire season at Sunset . Good luck to Chris, Bob and the crew where ever they may be next season !

congrats from here also to both teams. I do recall Tom winning the BSW championship a few years ago where some fans felt it was just as contraversial. Maybe what comes around does indeed go around ?

Three seasons ago after Walters had won his first championship at Barrie l was visiting with Darin Malcom #43 who pitted nearby and got talking to Tom who was sat on a picnic bench in his pit,he was telling me what a great facility the owners had created it was like going to the park and being able to race as well, nice and clean the pads the grass everything about the place was first class, it was a pleasure racing and relaxing at Barrie speedway compared to Sunset which was sadly slowly falling into disrepair then he stopped and laughed and said " Despite it all Sunset is my home and that is were l would like to finish out my career," l am sure the Wes Good regime has maybe soured that thought. lol

Yes, I noticed that on the other thread. it just goes to show you that Tom and Chris are class acts. I personally am not convinced that the points are indeed correct, but I guess there is a time to win, and a time to accept defeat. As for the Sunset officials involved in the whole mess, well they should be ashamed of themselves. The three men involved know who they are, and I hope that they are proud of the fact that they have cost the speedway Thousands and Thousands of dollars in lost revenue in the years to come. Professional sports leagues understand that if they deliberately make an unfair or unjust call, it is not just the team(s) in question that they upset, but it is the fans as well. That being said, the Sunset management can rest assured that I would not come on that property even if I was payed to do so as long as these three individuals are there, regardless if Tom ever decides to race there or not. I understand that one of them has been or will be let go before next season anyway. It just goes to show you that those that live by the sword, die by the sword.
I would also like to congratulte Chris on a great year, wonderfull guy all around. I would also like to congratulate the rest of his crew.Tom certainly gave it great run, running hard every night and putting on an edge of your seat effort every time out on the track. Great for race fans to see the effort that he put in each time out.Congratulations to Tom also for a wonderfull year. It is quite sad because he always considered sunset home and for new ownership to come and destroy that is sad also.Theres always next year and knowing Tom whereever he decides to race that the fans that have followed him faithfully over the years will follow him and continue to root for a man that they have come to know as mr. saturday night.

I'd like to also congratulate Chris Morrow and his team on his 2008 Sunset Speedway Championship . I'm sure he would have enjoyed one last run to finish off the season . I hope you enjoy your time off and we'll all be waiting for you to return . Hopefully we'll at least see you all in the stands. As a fan its nice to come down to the pits and have Chris call you over by name and invite you over for a chat . As everyone says he and his team really are a class act .  :) :)
