I thank you guys big time for all this great info!

My eventual goal is to get results from all CASCAR events, at least when it became the General Tire SuperSeries in the early 90s.
I know trying to get results from those early Cascar "Feature" races from the late 80s at Delaware may be a stretch.

Ill make sure to PM that Statsman user hopefully he has some stuff as you mentioned.

Thanks guys for putting up with a newbie ;)

I went to my first Cascar race in 94 or 95. Back then I sometime bought the annual Cascar program book. I'm not sure if they are buried in a closet with my other old magazines. When did Inside track start up? and PRN preceded it in covering cascar. Old copies of those would have results.

If you're in London and willing to put in the time, you can go thru the newspaper archives at the Central Library. In the late 80s we were still getting Fri nite coverage. Dont know if that will help you with races that weren't at Delaware though.

Early top dogs from Delaware were Harmer-26, Betteridge-22, Robblee-32, Farr-04,  Merner-28, Johnston-42, Ron Ling-68, Bob Morris-88, Jacques-21 and later 35, Mike Ling-61, Mark Patrick-12, Jim Patrick-15, Wall-50.

Early Super Series stars were 02-Micks, 3-Shirtliff, 78-Mallat, 16-Turner, 74-Sawchuk, 75-Hryniuk, 93-Nagy, 25-Lapcevich, 1-Gibbons, Don Thompson jr- 82 and later 4, 7-Dupuis, Dave Whitlock, and 03-Speedy Jack Monaghan.

This is just to name a few.

I had a bunch of races on tape from the 90s but just looked and could not find them, maybe tossed in a tape cleanup session.

Staman's site is excellent for back in the day stuff and the link above has a lot of pictures from CASCAR in the 80's.

The link to motorsport.com's archive of news releases posted earlier is as good as it gets for '98-'06 period. Cascar went through a lot over those years and this forum thrived on it! Reading those releases brings it all back. ISA anyone??!!  ;)

I was there, all three years, yeah I'm that old.  Got some info stashed away somewhere, will try to find some of it. Ran the year of Pettys' fan appreciation tour and painted my car up like his as my own Petty appreciation tour..   Racing on that track was a blast, have to thank Tony for making it possible for a hick town boy like me to race at  the Mecca.  We astounded the crowds by starting the quick cars to the back, which they had never seen, no freight training there!  The track is almost twice the width of Delaware, so running three wide didn't bother us much, but gave them good old boys heart palpatations.
One night was so cold the water in the rads of the Florida cars was freezing at speed!  Had the good old boys comin around buyin anti-freeze from us Canucks cause we had it for the trip in and out of Canada!  Lots more stories in this old head, but they take time to recall.

First year we went, nobody knew what gear to run, some of us got lucky and scrambled to the wreckin yards for some 9" rears. George Wall was runnin the 50 car and just couldn't get a good gear. Good thing we only ran 3 races that first year cause I think he hurt three engines.  The next year I took two complete engines and a short block. Had another guy build my priimary engine, 7 laps into practice it started smokin out the pipes, that was at 3pm, locals couldn't believe it we lined up for time trials at 5:30 with back up in and the guys pouring coolant in it while I strapped in, qualified 7th!  Thought we sucked an intake gasket on the good engine,. replaced it in am and dropped it back in.  Same result, same fix, that really freaked em out, they told us we changed engines like they change tires. Turned out the "engine builder" used anti seize on the head bolts instead of loctite, last one he did for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Think  I got some pics of the engine adventure if I can figure out how to post em.  We took up two pit stalls and nobody bitched, I think they found it too entertaining!
