Kevin Bridge Maintains Points Lead in Great Lakes Concrete Series
SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Despite some adversity over the past month, Kevin Bridge will head into the final two events of the Great Lakes Concrete Series as the points leader.
After putting in the midnight oil over the course of last week, Kevin Bridge unloaded the No. 17 CRX at Sauble Speedway on Sunday hopeful for success. The day started off strong as he would finish fourth in his lone qualifying heat.
Starting fourth in the feature, he’d battle side-by-side with Warren Paxton in the early stages, before taking the third spot where he’d remain until the back half of the race, where he was able to get by Daniel Montanari for second with seven laps to go. The battle would go right down to the wire for podium spots, though, with Paxton passing Bridge with two laps to go. Though despite dealing with a tight condition on entry to the corner throughout the event, Bridge would cross the finish line with a third-place finish.
The finish allows Bridge to head into the final two events of the Great Lakes Concrete Series with the points lead, with the first of those taking place on August 25 at Sunset Speedway. Bridge will be back in action sooner than though, as the Mini Stocks are on the schedule for regular points racing at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 11.
