Lots of fun this week as the 7th race of the Tillsonburg Mini Outlaws race series ran it's course.

Beginner # 8 Tristan McLay/Burgessville has been having a great season but must have upset the universe karma by teasing his older cousin about crashing so much. This week it was Tristan that was testing the crash worthiness of the karts. The first one was a rollover after using the infield berm like a Hell Drivers ramp to get it up on two wheels before rolling it on over.  No big deal and he restarted after the caution.  His second one was just a crash by misjudging a kart that had slowed in front of him. Lesson learned, never ever drive with your thumb inside the steering wheel because when it spins out of your grip, your thumb gets caught. Good thing kids are rubbery and everyone is fine. Final results are # 45 Nick Sheridan/Mt Brydges winning with # 93 Rayse Meyer/Courtland taking second and driving his new to him kart , # 5 Tom Pellizzari/Tillsonburg in a really solid third.  He looks comfortable in the kart and will no doubt be racing for real in the Summer Series.

Junior # 48 Andrew Marshall/Dorchester was looking ship shape this week and managed to pull of almost a perfect night for 1st overall. Series leader, # 52 Jacob Sheridan took the sprint win and a pair of seconds leaving him in second. the next four drivers could have been tied together for the rest of the races as each one was in the thick of things. McCormack, Streng, Hall and Bennett were so close it took the computer to figure out who got third overall as it was that close. # 62 Oscar McCormack/Burford took third this time.  Of Special note # 24 John McClay took home a kart in the same condition as he arrived this week.  That has not been the case for awhile. I am sure Dad will be happy about that one as will Spanky's Garage out of Salford who has been working overtime keeping the kart pristine looking. Finally he gets a weekend off. Next week will be the last time the Juniors get to run against # 26 Katherine Summers as she says adieus to the Juniors and will be moving up to the Seniors for the Summer Series.

The Senior racing seems to be heating up. # 87 Brad Perrott/ Strathroy finally put a finger on his racing woes and was running up front all night. Overall 1st place was the result. Oddly enough the fastest lap times in the final main were by Brad Perrett and # 79 Bea Courtnage/Harley with a 8.771 each but neither were able to do better than 3rd that race. # 39 Kate Courtnage had a very good night with consistant finishes and only missed the top spot by a single point after winning the final race. Series leader # 20 DJ McRae/London muscled his way into 3rd this week without a single win. Consistancy usually pays off when the group is so close. All but one have been breaking into 8 second lap times and Austin has been knocking off a bit each week and will be there too by the season end.

The Shake up continued into the Experts this week with # 19 Cody Coburn/ Mt Brydges standing on top at nights end.  Could this be the first of a string of victories? Could he finally have a handle on the BIG horsepower used in this class?  What do you say Cody? Running second overall despite some come from the rear charges, # 1 Holly Porter was fast with # 34 Scott Chesterman tied for 3rd with his old Dad. Quote of the night by Joe Kelly " I don't know what happened, I looked at Holly on the infield and crashed into the wall." You owe us a sheet of plywood Joe.  LOL.  The only bad part is I didn't get to see it. grin.
