 yes one of the best events of the year for sure. i was at delaware for the isma show and it  was shit compared to the colours show.same money and at delaware you saw a couple of passes wow..at peterbough you saw hours and hours of racing ..but yes 6to10 more mods.and 6 to 10 more late models and we would of had the best show in canada.i wonder were shaw;thompson and all the delaware cars were.

I guess it could be the purse, which never seems to be posted very far ahead of time. Anyway, sort of off topic but, Vanderwyst was 9th and Pearn was 6th in a 28 car MAARA field at Lancaster yesterday, so there is a slight chance they might be trying the last chance race at Flammy on Saturday. Flammy had 25 lms running but were weak on the LLM count due to conflicting shows. Might be a lot running in the LLM last chance race as a result. Hope to see everyone there.

Who knows where the Delaware cars were...I think the 52 team's taking their time working on rebuilding their car from the 300 weekend...

It  was great weather! Great racing! Great company! Really nice to see a whole bunch of friends out racing on one track. I think the car counts were down from years past.

I have one question in the Four Fun class after reviewing the rules I see that yes window nets were mandatory which I am glad to see. My question is did the # 2 and # 16 have window nets? I argued that yes they did as I figured that must have in order to pass tech but as they went around it didn't look like it. It looked like a shoulder belt was on. Which in the rules it states quick release a 4 point harness with a minimum of 3" lap belt and 3" shoulder harness must be worn. Also it was mentioned to me that someone else in that class was driving around with their hand out the window and on the roof!!

according to tye williams, the four fun tech from sunset, capitol city cars are not required to have window nets or harnesses, stock seat belts are enough.....

it says right ont he capital city speedway website that there four funs DO NOT have to run a window net and can keep the STOCK SEAT belt in.  and som epeople thought the four funs at sunset r death traps.

I have always been high up on safety. No window net is crazy. Then again the tech guy at Peterborough a few years back said my son's mini stock was TOO safe! I still remember the look on Brian Thomas' face when I told him that one. Razz almost fell over laughing when I told him. I still haven't figured out how a race car can be too safe.  He told us that if my son hit one of their cars he would end up killing the driver. I told him that if one of their cars hit the wall it would be a sad day for that driver. He also told me that our car was built to turn corners. Well I didn't know I was at a drag strip.

Cars need to be built safe. A window net is just one little safety feature that can really save you. Come on people give your heads a shake before they get a really bad rattle from an accident.

Back to the weekend......

Congrats to John Fletcher 2006 Champion in OSCAAR. It was also John's 200th start.  John finished 6th

well a window net at the least will save buddy's arm when he hits that retarded wall at peterborough.  i no myself and the 50 four fun car were only only four funs with FULL centre section cages, and yes i no some other had half cages, but they still werent as safe as mine and the 50.  and even at sunset where i raced there wasnt very many cars at all this year with full center sections, only a few of us with a bit of brains in them.

I heard that during hot laps they ran the four fun car and the mini stocks toggether.
Too scary for me I tell you. Someone is going to get hurt in one of those cars. I use to live down east and I thought I saw it all when I was down there. At least they had fishing net for a window net!  It was still a window net. I still can't get over the guy that had to put weight in his car down there so he put dumb bell weights in LOOSE right down beside him and went out on the track!
