Travis McLean Hoping to Shift Gears in Sauble’s Second Half
SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Heading into the second half of the 2018 campaign, Travis McLean is ready to get things headed back in the right direction.

After entering the season with high hopes, things have not played out as envisioned, with mechanical gremlins making good runs seem just out of reach. That said, when things go right for McLean, he has proven that he can get the job done, as noted with a season-best sixth-place finish on June 29.

Following a solid rookie campaign last year, McLean believes becoming a regular contender inside of the top-five weekly is just out of reach.

“We want to win races, of course, but we know how strong the competition is,” team owner and Travis’ father Derek McLean said. “So our goals is to qualify for all the big shows, solid top 10 runs and possibly a heat win or two.”

With a positive mindset, and hopefully some luck, it appears the sky is the limit heading into the final two months of the season. The super stocks are off this weekend at Sauble Speedway, but will be back in action on Saturday, July 28.
