Excitement Builds for Castrol Canadian Late Model Shoot-out with $20000 Purse

South Buxton (September 9 / 2007) - After 3 years of success with the Canadian Late Model South Buxton Raceway is pleased to announce that they have increased the total purse from the 2006 pay-out. This year’s pay-out will top out at an impressive $20000 for UMP Late Models making this event Canada’s richest UMP Late Model race. In the last three years the momentum of this event has grown not only with the race fans but with the race teams from the United States. Last years shoot-out provided record numbers vying for the 22 starting spots sending some race teams home early. With this much money up for grabs, the pit area once again will be at capacity and a predicted record car count is expected.
The 2005 Shoot-out winner Jayme Zider has announced that he will once again make the 10 hour voyage from Greenfield, WI to once again lay claim to the title. 2006 Shoot-out winner Curtis Roberts, who made his first trip to the 3/8 mile “D” shaped oval last year, has also indicated he will return as defending champion. Roberts will make the multi hour trip to Merlin Ontario from Coleman Michigan on September 29th. Local drivers like Andrew Reaume, Joe Fields, Jim Dale Jr, Brad Authier and Kirk Hooker look to battle with their US counterparts. The local drivers look forward to the arrival of the additional race teams and hope to keep the shoot-out trophy here in Canada.
