Sunday shows?
« on: May 15, 2008, 02:06:25 PM »
I can't understand why..more tracks arn't racing this sunday night?  ..... I would love to go to a race sunday night...but unless I wanna travel  2 1/2-3 hours I can't see any racing >:(

are there any other tracks besides Sauble & Varney running Sunday?

I noticed PTBO is having an Enduro..and that is literary the only one running that is in a reasonable distance of where I'm at.

I can. When's the last time we've had good weather for the May long weekend?

Humberstone's regular night is Sunday. I see there is a sprint car show this weekend.

neat part about Humberstone is that on a regular night, you can sit in the tower for $15.00 which is great when the temperature is cool (and keeps the family happy to boot). (regular shows are ten bucks)  Might be slightly more this week with the sprints, but they're unsanctioned, so I'm not sure how many to expect. Last year there was never more then 10 or so, but they usually get around 24 cars in the other divisions except the trucks and minis. It's only 20 minutes or so past Merrittville on Hwy 406 to Hwy 140 and east for a mile on Hwy 3

Only a guess, but I would think there may be a few more sprints running Humberstone this year...With Ohsweken switching to weekly sprints, there are more teams in the area with cars than there were last year...Dave Dykstra and John Burbridge, Jr. are two of the new cars this year.

I believe they had 13-15 one night there last year for one of the unsanctioned shows...

PS - Merrittville has a Monday night show this week...it's usually quite good, and they don't waste any time there so you don't have to sit there all night when you have work in the morning.

I counted four and two cars going from the fall and spring fremont swap meet to ontario when I was there don't know who they all were but that definately makes things look good for everyone.

Ohsweken Friday OPening Nite, Flamboro Saturday, Varney Sunday, Merrittville Monday....all, if the weather holds up...get too Merrittville an hour early if you dont want to sit in the lower sections that get pelleted with dirt later in the night...lol...that Monday show is always packed.
Ohsweken opens this weekend so I'm sure a few of those guys will travel to Humberstone and add to their car count now.
Flamboro has hobbies Saturday ($30 to enter pits), plus its rain dated for Sunday.

South Buxton has the Michigan-based ASCS Sprints on Dirt tour on Saturday night as well, so a few of those teams may run Ohsweken Friday and Humberstone Sunday.

Haha...fair enough.

I tend to forget about the gas price issue sometimes...my car gets 40mpg and I don't have a mortgage to pay (yet).
