I would much rather see a caution free race with a bit of flow as long as it features some passing (even if minimal).. I think most race fans appreciate the clean yet hard hosed races like that. Seemed to be a real lack of an outer groove at Barrie last night compared to the few weeks prior.. I noticed that in all the divisions.. I hate watching those races that go 7 laps caution, 5 laps caution, 2 laps caution etc. Its a shame that most of the big LM races in Ontario appear to be that way. Although the Garry Reynolds race last season was fairly efficient, and from what I understand the M.R.E race #2 at Sunset went that way as well after the "big one" on the initial lap.. From what my Dad tells me the Maritime Pro Stock tour ran a 100 lapper caution free earlier this season in 22 minutes, and alot of there races feature a minimal amount cautions along the way.. Not like Barrie's NCATS race last season, 16 cautions for 159 laps.. Thats more caution laps than green flag laps and that's crap to watch from my standpoint no matter how eventful.
On a side note the TQ Midgets went 25 laps caution free at Sauble today and the race was over in 6 minutes.. Thats the second race in a row for them caution free after an appearance at Barrie last weekend. And their racing is some of the most exciting and intense in the province.. Thats my take..
I had heard something of the "fight for the water hose" after feature #1 last night Ridge Road.. Will be interesting to see the vid most definitely and see who instigated it!!
