Question from the OSS website
« on: March 03, 2008, 08:11:16 PM »
Per the OSS page:
"The Ontario Sportsman Series is owned by the National Stock Car Association, NSCA, as of March 2008 and will compete in 16- 50 lap events in 2008 at a variety of tracks across Southern Ontario..."
For anyone at the meeting yesterday, what exactly does that mean? I don't think that corresponds to NASCAR, and I've got nothing else on it from Google....

Where is that posted I don't see it. I know they are down to 4 board members now.

NSCA or National Stock Car Association who are they? There was a NSCA in the US NSCA Pro Stock.

Tonights Race Time Radio there was a mention that OSS was going to have a press release in the  future by the sounds of it in the Barrie area reguarding this year. They also said that Shawn McGlynn was at the Race show in Toronto on the weekend and they said he was all smiles.Sounds like they (OSS ) could be running their series out of Barrie area possible or they are redoing there schelude. Maybe more changes in the future.Suggest you (racefans) check the OSS site or listen to RTR (Race Time Radio ) as it would not surprise if something comes down in the near future. Just thought I would let the racing fans of this site know what is possibly to happen .This was mentioned on RTR tonight.

OK this is confusing to me I don't know about the rest of you but they have all these races on the schedule and some were dropped but they show 4 different tracks and now they are going to a Barrie area schedule.

I'm lost as I thought if you sign contracts with Mosport Speedway, Sauble Speedway or Peterborough Speedway you can't get out of it?

To many changes for me. I really confused have to wait for the press release I guess

It could be an announcement that Barrie was actually the first track signed for the OSS, and how the directors and the new owners have have a long-lasting friendship....

Still don't get it as they pumped it up as a huge traveling series and now it is in the Barrie area only?

We will have to see when the season starts to see what is what and where they will be.

Does anyone else find this confusing  ??? I'm talking serious here and I'm not attacking or bashing anyone.

Evan they RTR said Barrie area not Barrie Speedway but barrie area could take in Barrie Speedway also .As for 16-50 laps races I think that would mean 8 race nights as I think they (OSS ) have double 50 lap races. As to where and what is happening guess we will just have to wait for the relaease. Thought I would clarify my earlier message

I am so scared about finding out who this NSCA is.  I have this nagging fear tha it is a few people who were already "running" the series anyway.  Please tell me I'm wrong please.

I've found absolutely nothing on them. The bit on their site about looking a going to a roadcourse was interesting too. Cascar-lite, anyone?
