SOUTHERN ONTARIO SPRINTS PR: BROWN LEADS SOS BACK TO BRIGHTON


By Tommy Goudge (July 8, 2015) - London, Ontario - The 20th season of Southern Ontario Sprints racing continues this Saturday, July 11 when the tour heads back to Brighton Speedway.


Mitch Brown leads the championship standings heading into Saturday's event, with 5-time and defending SOS champion Glenn Styres 63 points behind in 2nd. 2-time champ Keith Dempster holds the 3rd spot, followed by 2013 champ Chris Jones, Jamie Turner, Rookie of the Year leader Ryan Turner, Cory Turner, Shawn Sliter, Frank Baranowski, and Bob Crawford.


Brown and Styres each have 2 SOS feature wins so far in 2015, while Chris Jones and Parker Price-Miller have each claimed single wins. Brown claimed the win in the SOS series opener at Brighton on May 16, while Styres got the win the last time the SOS raced at Brighton on June 20.


Local flavour always adds to the fun at Brighton, including drivers like Rick Wilson.  The all-time SOS feature win leader with a total of 32 victories, Wilson has claimed 21 of those at Brighton.
