Seems to me that Sauble already had their rule and registration day .......but I know there could be the last minute rush when the season opens for the drivers to come forward.

Ooooh, this series demise didn't surprise me in the least,as I could see it coming fast in a hurry. It was going down for the past few years and if Joe isn't careful and begin to treat all the drivers with respect he might not have a decent Saturday night show either.I looked on the website and there isn't many regular drivers signed up right now so who knows.

It's still early for rosters to be posted already. I'd like to see them posted now, as it would give us something to talk about over the off-season (lol) but half the tracks haven't even had their registration/general meetings yet (ie. Kawartha, Flamboro) so it's too early to tell.
As a side note, will Tyler Williams be doing both Sauble and Varney next season in the LLM, or just Sauble? Hopefully he does some traveling with the LM to go with it...
EDIT: Looks like someone at Delaware read my mind, lol...

Actually, I head on the news tonight that the owner of Steelback is putting a bid together to buy the Pittsburg Penguins. He'd also had an interest in a CFL team.

There has been a rather interesting **RUMOUR** making the rounds since late summer, that Steelback is up to their wazoo in debt.Something about Mr.D`angelo buying too many expensive toys, yadayadayada.**IF**that is the case, and Sauble has lost some large sponsorship, combined with their low car counts, could be a bleak summer at the beach.Lets hope they get it turned around.
And I also agree,Chisolm is the author of his own demise.

that just goes to show the sad state Alstar was in , the series folded and there was hardly a wimper on the message boards!

funny, Joe's press release states (to paraphrase) that the drivers in the series were not Saturday night racers and their sponsors were province wide in scope. If he looked closely, most of the sponsors were still local, not provincial, and many teams  were homeless Saturday night racers (ex Sauble, ex Sunset,  ex Peterboro, etc) who did not have the budget to be travelling for top heavy purses. After the travel novelty wore off and the expenses rolled up rather quickly, many dropped out.
His refusal to acknowledge the potential of the crate engine was another nail in the coffin.
Steelback's president appears to be spending his money paying ex jocks to play hockey with him (and using it for tv ads for his suds) and getting Ben Johnson to tout his energy drink.

Hey what happened to Steeback. When I went to the Sauble website its no longer called Steelback Sauble Speedway and I couldn't find any reference to Steelback.

I guess Joe will have three long weekends to fill at Sauble this year, since he only has 2.5 classes normally.

Joe has noone to blame but himself! yes the tracks gave him a hard time but if he was truly interested in resurging the series he would have talked to the track owners throughout the summer to see what happened . Instead of just sending out contracts again!

Well, that opens a door for someone else to start a traveling LM series, possibly even the WWS....
