Eastern Ontario Vintage Club and Regular night this Sunday at Cornwall Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Wednesday, August 23, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – The end of the 2017 season is already upon us at Cornwall Motor Speedway with only 2 weeks of regular season left, the Sportsman will have busy Sunday as they will start the evening with the final 36 laps of the August 17 feature plus they will be part of the complete race program as the Eastern Ontario Vintage Club will also be in town on Jim’s Performance Plus night.

The Eastern Ontario Vintage Club is looking forward again to be in competition at the speedway, nearly 20 cars are expected to be in the pits for the 20-lap event schedule for them. This group always bring nostalgia to older race fans with older models of Modifieds.

It will be the final 30-lap event of the year in the Modified division as Chris Raabe currently holds a comfortable lead of 71 points over Luke Whitteker. Consistency and being conservative will be the key to enable Raabe in getting a hold of his second track title in a row.  Whitteker and David Hebert are next in line for a good battle for second spot in the chase.

The Assist2Sell Tracy Wheeler Sportsman will have a busy evening with 2 features on the card including the final 36 laps of the August 17 feature plus the regular 25-lap event. Justin Lalancette leads the way in the point’s standings over Tristan Draper and Brianna Ladouceur.

In the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock, George Renaud has been holding his ground on top of the point’s chart leading with 547 points. A good battle is shaping up for the final two events at Stephane Lebrun and CD Beauchamp, are in tied in second with Marc Lalonde being 12 points behind them in fourth. A 25-lap feature is on the schedule.

A fight to the finish line in the Polar Sound DJ Service Mini-Stock between Marc Dagenais and Mike Gaucher as only 4 points is separating both drivers. Dagenais is on fire lately winning the last 4 events.

For this coming Sunday, the pit gates will open at 3 pm with a cost of $25 and the general admission will open their doors at 4:30pm with a cost of $13 for adults, $7 for seniors and $2 for kids 16 years old and under. Qualifying races are scheduled to start at 6:30pm
