GBS - May 26 canceled

Today's event has been rained out.  May 26th event will now take place on June 2, and June 2nd event @ GBS will take place on June 3.

I think that they should have waited longer before cancelling, i got there and along with many other teams it turned out to be a nice day, the clouds were breaking up at 2 when i was there.  Had they not cancelled the race shortly after 12 they would have altered their minds when the storm passed over.  Many people have to drive quite a distance in order to get to the race and with gas the price it is it would have been nice if they had considered cancelling after seeing how the weather would have turned out.  If not, then earlier notice would be appreciated so that so much money is not spent in driving all the way out there for it to be cancelled on a gorgeous day.  Since a good number of people were already at the track it would have been nice if they had considered making the day a practice day for the people that did spend the gas to get there.

they did the right thing.. if we had raced the infield of the track would have been all muddy, the pits would have been all muddy and would make the track dirty. Plus it started to rain hard here in grand bend around 9 o'clock around the time of the feature.

it would have been nice if they had done it earlier since some of us have a futher drive, and they still could of let us practice since we were already there.

This is a no-win situation for the GBS because they'll never please everyone. Call it early and have some put out racers, or call it after everyone is there and paid and then have to call the show due to rain and have complaints that it should have been called earlier. Both the current and former ownership groups made the best decision they could when faced with bad weather and there'd be no racing at GBS without their efforts.

They did attempt to get the info out early enough for those of us who travel a great distance and this is something that hasn't happened in the past. I appreciate the effort. We now know to wait a little longer if weather might be questionable before we head out and check the website before we leave to avoid unnecessay trips.

It would have been nice to get in practice for those who did go to the track, however, I can understand the decision made on Saturday given that insurance drives most decisions.

The new track is so much better. I am willing to give Brad, Doug, Sue and Chicken the time necessary to make this the racing opportunity that they have planned.
