just checked the weather network and its 90% rain till tomorrow! i guess there will be alot of sick calls tomorrow.

To-morrow is a holiday thanks to our liberal prov govt. They have done one thing right since being in power. Looks like family day 2009 will be spent watching the race. Or maybe just the last of it. Sorry Jim, not knowing what you do for a living but most of us don't have to call in sick.

If they started the race at a decent time the darn thing would almost be over by now! It will be 7 pm before this thing is over. It is 3 pm now and driver intros are just getting going

bah...I think it's gonna be done..it looks like it's gonna be light rain for the next couple hours...personnaly...it's the damn Daytona 500..if we gotta wait till 9pm to re-start it we shound.... and I think everyone cept the 17 team is wanting that.

They could have still run...but like I said it woulda been like 9pm before they got going again...personnaly for the 500..it should have been done, but the worse thing to do would have been to wait 3 hours and then have to call it.

I just think sence nascar knew 100% this rain was comming we all did...they should have made a decision to say were racing to "XXXlaps" and then were stoping..but they could have shot them selves in the foot doing that as well...it puts them in a terrible postion.......

screw rain...nuff said.

I still think they called it a little early. They only waited 15 min. Give it an hour or two. It is the Daytona 500. If they were able to get it restarted it would have been a helluva finish.

They should start it earlier 1PM start would be fine as this give time if rain comes to wait it out a bit.

I think everyone saw enough stuff before this race during the past week. No a great Daytona 500. The Dizzy 500 was better.

I guess a lot of drivers are happy as they got out of Daytona without a wrecked race car.

Give me a break. That was just as much Vicker's fault as it was Jr's. Seriously, I think one of the requirements to be a Toyota driver (both in Racing, and on the street) is being a dumbass...

Vickers throws the block - a little late but has become the norm at these races. If jr holds at the yellow line and vickers wrecks its vickers fault. That's what nascar says after tall. last year. Instead jr goes below the line - a natural reaction. he could have lifted and then pulled up. Instead he stays in the gas and hooks him. Your guy messed up. It's a product of this type of racing.

longstreet - you need to put your glasses back on. I'm not saying it's vickers fault. He was within the rules. jr. messed up , but that's restrictor plate racing. What I was saying was that if you choose to block, especially that late, you take a risk. The risk is that the guy you are trying to block doesn't go below the line and if you aren't clear ,like vickers wasn't,you basically wreck yourself.
