I can,t believe no one has a answer to your post. Someone on this site must know something. Help the man out guys, it sounds like he wants to run at sunset, or does the little guy matter any more. Things really don,t change , do they?

Hi we are working back at the speedway as you can imagine we are very busy so I am sorry that I did not respond right away but I will do my best to respond ASAP and yes the little guy counts so lets not try and get that ball rolling, the snow is a almost all gone we have a lot of water but we are working where we can as far as opening night all I can say is pull the chin strap and belts tight it is going to be a fun ride for all the racers trying for practice the first week of May.

Took a run down to Sunset after work today, Mark and the crew were hard at it as I walked in.  Anyone who thinks that they have run out of money, it wont open in time, or that Mark bailed on the project, well....you have another thing comin!  Walked around talking with Mark and Ted Grey for awhile and I can see alot of vision and admiration for whats going on at that place.

Seeing the amount of work already underway, and what still has to be done, its no wonder that nobody has had time to answer anything on CRO.  The concrete wall is done on the front stretch smooth, ALL the grand stand seating has new planks put down, the infield is flat smooth and near pavement, pit area is shaping up and will have alot more room when done.

Probly one of the best features is the infield pit area, the very centre is raised up about 5 or 6 feet higher, so the crews can see the whole track nice and high up, with no visual distraction from pit carts, tow trucks, or the wall itself when its installed.

This track is a must see to those who have never been to Sunset Speedway or haven't been there in a while. I'm amazed everytime I go there and I always notice improvements and the stands seem to be fuller everytime you go.

I think the track will be on the NCATS schedule in years to come and people you have to be patient as Mark and the others at Sunset are busy people but they will come on and answer questions. Mark has been answering questions on here for many many years as I remember him coming on here when he was racing in CASCAR when we first started the site.

Thanks Mark and the other from Sunset that take the time to post update or field questions about Sunset Speedway.

There are a few people that work for tracks that know how to use CRO as a tool to help improve their tracks and listen to what the fans and drivers say about their tracks.

I was down at the track today and work is progressing well. The wall should be done in 2 weeks. Yes Charlie the little birdie told me the same.

LOL Raceman.  Mark was saying he hoped to have 1st coat ashphalt down buy the second week of April, if memmory serves me correct.

The one issue they all seem to keep hashing over is the pit area, for the amount of cars they are anticipating.  They are not sure if they can get the property to the north over the fence. And the big dump to the west behind the track, they dont know whats up with that really.

Other then that, its goona flow pretty nice I think.

Shakell's will NEVER sell that 'dump' to the west. So i'd assume that means it is out of the question

That piece of property on the west side is a time bomb.........  There us to be a valley there and someone buried a lot of tires, a lot of tires, in there for fill. If the ministry of environment were to check it some one would be in a lot of K..K  .   I know as I use to live just west of the track for many years before it was put into a track, so i9t could be a trailer sight. A lot of the work was done at night, so no one would see it.  They should have bought the piece of property, at the north end, even if they had to put up some extra money. For parking and bigger pits.. When it was up for sale.

I think Sunset should just put up a big wooden fence so nobody can see that eyesore.  Or maybe round up a bunch of guys and pull out the tires and garbage, after all, arent tires being taken for free now or something like that?
