After being awarded as a co-winner the last time the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series visited Ontario’s west coast Brandt Graham from Bowmanville took up the challenge laid down by Sauble Speedway owner Jason Thom to try starting from the rear of the field for Saturday nights 100 lap feature and if he could win he would be rewarded with a cool $1,000.00 bonus!

Graham used great tire management and slowly worked his way through the field taking advantage of timely cautions which closed up the field considering at one point early in the race he was at risk of going a lap down to the leaders.  After a few restarts Graham worked his way into the top five and set his sights on the leader then with under 20 laps to go he was able to get on the inside of leader Bobby Tolton from Guelph moving him up the track to take the lead and he never looked back.  Tolton would hang on for second, his best finish in his rookie year with the series sharing the seat duties with his dad Tim, Josh Wood from London would end up third after leading early in this race before losing the lead to Tolton and then being caught up in a spin with another car forcing him to come from the back.

In other action fans were treated to the best and closest finish this season in the Thunder Car division as the man to beat this year Ken Grubb from Walkerton would finally be defeated.  This night showed his follow competitors had did their homework over the past week and made the correct adjustments and they were not going to make the night easy for Grubb, although he managed to take his first two heat wins.  Starting near the rear of the field Grubb was able to find his way to the lead like he has all season long but he could not shake the 16 of Zack Casemore from Sauble Beach.  As the drivers took the two to go flags Casemore was working over Grubb with everything he had then coming out of corner two on the final lap he was able to get Grubb up the track enough to allow him to pull up to Grubb’s door then in three and four they would rub one more time setting up a drag race to the finish and it would be Zack Casemore edging out the veteran for his first victory of the season.  Heat winners on the night were 36 Ken Grubb with two and 47 Kent Nuhn from Desboro with two.

Four Cylinders also had another close finish but this time it would be the familiar 17 of Kevin Bridge from Kincardine continuing his winning ways after edging out the 10 of Will Gibbons from Port Elgin with just two laps to go with third going to 7 Brian Wilson. Early on this race would be dominated by 7 Brian Wilson from Rockwood who lead till the halfway point before Gibbons would take the lead with 17 Bridge having to work his way throw the pack after starting near the back.  Heat winners were 10 Will Gibbons, 7 Brian Wilson, 1 John VanDyk from Annan and 24X Richard Butler from New Lowell.

In Junior Late Model action it would be 88 Tyson Schreinert from Ayton going flag to flag in the feature for the win followed by 25 Zenas Johnston from Wiarton and 14 Braden Grimoldby also from Wiarton for third.  What looked to be shaping up as another great battle between 88 Schreinert and the 7 of Ty Cavallin from Owen Sound who had won both heat races early in the night never came to be as Cavallin car would be pushed back to the pits after the warm-up laps with mechanical issues.
