I'd like to see Martin win it but think he may have missed his best chance last year.

I think that the 48 car will be hard to beat given he's on the pole with his best stuff.

Villeneuve & Carpentier have to race their way in, and there's only 4 spots available 2 from each race, so the odds aren't good but I'm hoping!

Just reading from the paper, both Carpentier and Villeneuve are in the 2'nd qualfying race, only the 2 top spots are up for grabs (not including top 35, previous champ provisionals, etc), here's who they're up against. Waltrip, Ruetiman, Blaney, Kvapil, Hamlin, Gordon. Stewart, Ragan, Kenseth, Martin, Gililand, Jarrett, Bifle, McMUrray, R Gordon, McClure, Busch. Harvick, Schrader, Burton, Franchitti, Andretti, Barrett, I've underlined the guys they have to beat (off the top of my head).

I would think Schrader, Jarrett and Andretti will be their most threats! You never know though, depends on how they are lined up at the end, with the draft and all??? Wish them good luck though!

I would like to see Mark Martin win but I think it is Jr or Gordon that will win but I think it is going to be a interesting race. Can't wait till Thursday to see some racing again.

Although I'd like to see a Ford or a Canadian win, I think it'll be either Jr., Stewart or Jeff Gordon as these guys really run good at Daytona.

Villeneuve & Carpentier have to race their way in, and there's only 4 spots available 2 from each race, so the odds aren't good but I'm hoping!

My hopes for Ford are Kenseth, Bifle and Edwards. ;)
I'd like to see the Wood Bros just make the race, but their odds are less than Villeneuve's and Carpentier's, imho.  :-\

Would that make it the first time the 500 winner was a driver already on probation?
