Question for all the oldtimers out there. I recall a super modified from back in the day sponsored by Gord Chant Auto Wreckers, black and gold and for whatever reason I'm thinking it was #22. They ran Nilestown and Deleware, were always fairly quick but for the life of me I can't remeber who drove the car. Any help?

If memory serves, the Patrick and Mathers pics would be a couple years older than the Monaghan one...so maybe 1993-95?

Cool pics, brings back some great childhood memories, thanks Shadow.  The 27 Weed Man vette is Joe Beleskey, uncle to reigning Barrie Speedway Thunder Car Champ Jim "The Polish Prince" Beleskey.

Stock Car Racing in Ontario FB Group

Mid West Short Track Racing Memories FB Group

Both sites are highly recommended, although I must warn that it is possible to kill a LOT of time browsing either one!

Yeah....you can definitely spend some time there, but, to quote the Comedy Channel....it's time well wasted.  ;D

hi guys. I love this section with all the old photos.  Not sure anybody has seen this, but on Facebook, check out the "Midwest Shorttrack Racing Memories"  I stumbled upon this site and it has almost 6,000 photos of tracks in the midwest US and also in Ontario. Lots of old pictures form Cayuga, Delaware , Flamboro, Checker Flag, Mt .Clemens, etc .
It's great memories

Also, just because it bears repeating: If you have old photos but don't know how to post them, contact me directly and I can help get them up here.

Earlier this season we had the pleasure of having sharpie91 open up the family photo album, and he shared with us a whole whack of photos from the early 80's. We had a couple of "guess who" threads with some interesting comments and fond reminiscence.

Just in the interest of making those photos available, I've merged all of those threads here so they are all in one place.

I'm rather proud of this thread and what its become....so if you're new, grab a cup of coffee or a cold barley-pop and go thru this thread from the beginning. Its a great read.

And by all means, if you have a memory, question, or a story to tell, this is the place to do it!

What to do with these pictures I have is the question? Im sure I can donate some to Delaware Speedway.
My first wish would be to get them to their rightful owners. Family/sponsors of these drivers as well. Time restraints and basic geography makes that a pipe dream.
I am open to bring some to the track (Delaware) with me per request. Beyond that, any suggestions, mailing addresses etc would be appreciated.
Lets get these pics out there and out of boxes.
Thanks
Sharpie

3 things I noticed about the turn 1 picture
1. you can see the house beside the track
2. the path through the grass
and 3. that small tree and how big it is now
