I've been behind the 48 team the whole year and been thinking that they'd win it all the way back in February. Do you think I'm giving up on them now? Not a doubt. That team will not only hold the lead they have, but stretch it further. We've seen the proof by how they've ran in years past and the fact that there's a lot of depth in that team.

"Creative" interpritation of the rules exists in all forms of racing.
Knaus is a very "creative" gentleman. lol

or the Jimmie Johnson cup. Chad has said that he's going to crew cheif for at least another 5 yrs past this year so do the math that's 8 titles if they keep this going like they have.

No need for the next two boring races, JJ is your 2008 champion.    I'm already looking to next year, and I'm pulling for Mark Martin.

60% is Chad? Chad can only be as good as he is due to the feedback he gets from Jimmie so therefore I think you should lessen Chad's credit and add more to Jimmie on this case ;)

Somebody once told me you can teach a monkey to drive a car.  The driver is essentially ballast.

Not to spoil the positive image of Hendricks, but Jimmie and Chad will be really disappointed when the man that leaps from his car after a race, when others are wore out, takes the Championship by storm, in both the Sprint and Nationwide series.

2008 Nascar Champion- Brother -Carl Edwards !!!

Sorry to spoil everyones day, but lets face it- if Jimmie would have run as many races as Edwards did this year, his body would have gave up a long time ago.
I'm not saying that the Hendricks camp isn't the very best Team in Nascar, because they are, but when it comes to Driver talent, there is no other Driver, in any series, that can hold a candle to Carl Edwards and his determination to win on any given day.

Aflac signed a 85Million dollar deal with Roush, based on one simple rule...
EDWARDS is the Driver in the Aflac Ford till 2013.

That alone sums up his ability's, more so when you look at Hendricks and the struggles they have had trying to land a sponsor for the 88 for next year, the 24 car for 2010, and finally the 48 car in 2011, it kind of sets the tone.
Times are tuff and sponsor money no longer will dictate winners...
Its all based on Talent, and Edwards is the head of the class... $85 Million AND ALL !!!

I guess what infuriates me about cup racing is the number of time time trials were rained out-nine in total I believe. Sure we can blame mother nature but there was ample time to have the time trials either run on the saturday or the morning of the race. God knows there's time  on race day now that Nascar starts the races later and later to cater to the non-existent west coast audience. Probably a number of the go or go home teams won't be back as a result because they're likely out of business after not being able to attempt to qualify for three weeks in a row. The starting by points has just made it easier for a certain team to dominate without really racing hard after being able to get the top pit spot weeks in a row. And perhaps it's time to get rid of the past champions provisional and the lucky dog. Aarons is being investigated by the US govenment for exorbidant interest rate charges on their rent to own program so they may be cutting their sponsorship back.
Just an observation from this season of short track racing---ever notice Dirt Track fans wear dirt track hats/jackets/shirts usually supporting the divisions they're watching whereas Asphalt fans seem to wear Nextel Cup gear-----! Draw your own conclusions
