Barrie Schedule
« on: March 20, 2007, 04:18:27 PM »
Just saw the schedule and disappointed that there are no Sunday invitationals and no Delaware trucks. Since we race on Saturdays too, it was nice to visit other tracks and years ago we could go to a different one every few weeks. Looks like Sauble, Varney and Grand Bend only this year.

You could race Ohsweken on Friday nights then use your Saturdays as your travel days.  Just a thought.

Why is it Barrie always cans whatever was good the year before. The 75 lap Thunder car races 2 years ago were great, the car counts were high & the fans loved them. Last year they are gone. Last year the 100 lap Late model races were the best races all year & the Delaware trucks were a hugh hit. This year they are gone. All we get this year is a twin 40's race & some 50 lappers.

Also does anyone know of the big finale weekend this year is an invitational, or are only Barrie cars allowed?

Well on the September 29th.....the 500 Saturday Finale, Sunset, Peterborough, Flamboro are all running. So if it is an invitational....best of luck at getting out of town cars.

The finale is never an invitational. Can you imagine out of town cars deciding the final race outcome? Barrie also has 2 Nascar races this year and 3 invitationals that just might be some big payouts. I agree the trucks where great but there not racing outside their track this year. Alot of drivers wanted twin races this year so they would have a better points spread instead of basinf the points on long races, also long races are tough on equiptment.

No last year the 500 was an invitational.....in year past it was a double header....with qualifying and that on Saturday and Features on Sunday, except for Late Models as they ran there last points night on the Saturdays. In most years past the championship night was the weekend previous to the 500....and If I remember correctly Saubles Dan Wright won the Thunder Car Feature at last years 500 and Todd Davenport was 3rd. Chris Morrow finished 7th as the top visiting driver in LLM, and Todd Musker finished 2nd in the 4 Cylinders......Invitational i think it was.
