Walters Wins Yet Another Feature Race
« on: July 26, 2008, 02:40:34 AM »
Was at the 100 lapper fri. night and was very happy to see so many cars from sunset and barrie show up to run. Also the # 8 from sauble ran awsome , dont know his name. Good to see walters win yet another feature race. How many does that make this year and at how many different tracks. I know hes won at pbo sunset and kawartha so far this year but cant recall how many alltogether though. I think he just celabrated another birthday wed or thurs. but he is showing no signs of slowing down.

Well Rick from what I was told both Gordie and Baker raced, along with the 84 of Cronan!!! Cronan runs there fairly regular though!! Baker apparently finshed 6th, and Shepherd got in an accident on pit road!!! Yes thats right pit road!!!!LOL Heard Gordie did win a heat earlier in the day though!!! Baker was apparently quick but his car seemed to go away in the later stages!!! For the record both Morrow and Poole from Sunset raced too!!! Didnt hear where Chris finished but heard Poole finished 8th!!!! anything else???

Ya it was not a good night for Gord. We just put a brand new body on the car too, good we got pictures of it before the race. From the hit at the pit exit it destroyed the whole right side of the car & moved the rear end over a couple inches. We were coming off as we had a flat, got hit exiting on the caution, changed the tire & then blew the rear gears just as he went to get back on the track. Late night last night & if we race tonight we will just make it for the heats. I think are Kawartha days are over this year, we are too close in the points at Barrie to risk it again.

Here's a pic of Gord's mishap at the exit. I have more pics of the night and in-car video from Rob Poole's car. The videos turned out pretty good, will post them later on. :)

The #47 did run a great race last night , where his patience paid off . Gord Shepherd's #10 was running very well before the flat tire incident . It's always a fun race to watch when you bring in the top point runners from all surrounding tracks . I know as a fan I appreciate all the teams for coming out and all their efforts  . Barrie's #49 thunder car Frankie is a class act as he calls you by name and shakes your hand . Sorry we had to clear out so fast , but I wasn't driving last night and Bradford would have been a long walk home . Even Sunset's #11 Chris always smiling and the type of guy you can walk up and talk to . It's nice to be welcome in a sport you devote so much time to be part of each week.
