Nicole Podewils would drive her No. 79 Fox’s Bakery and Deli, Central Appliance, Barrie ChemDry and Permatex Mustang from mid-pack to the top five to finish fifth in the feature.
The Barrie, Ontario driver would finish second in her first heat after starting fourth. She would back that up with a win in her second heat after starting third.
In the feature, the defending series champion would start the feature mid-pack and race hard, making it up to the sixth position by lap nine, looking for a way by James Low for fifth. She would complete the pass the next lap and run the rest of the feature in that position for her second top five feature finish of 2012.
