Adam Turner Racing Unveils New Team Colours for 2014

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

Opening night for Brighton Speedway's next season of action is still over a couple of months away, but that hasn't kept Adam Turner from getting his program ready for battle at the local 3rd of a mile clay oval.  A highly competitive field on the tight bullring demands your full attention with every twist of the wheel and Turner knows he can't be thinking about negotiations with a potential sponsor or wondering whether there's enough fuel in the car to make it the entire distance of the night's 'A' main event.  His 100% focus needs to be on gaining another position on the race track and taking that next step toward the winner's circle.

After picking-up his first career Pro Late Model feature win near the end of the 2012 campaign and adding another checkered flag last year, the usually optimistic second generation speedster from Prince Edward County - who has also steered a DIRTcar Street Stock, Sportsman Modified and 358 Mod throughout the various stages of his career - was disappointed with his 14th place point position from 2013.  Missing 3 weeks of action at Brighton during the season may have been a contributing factor, but on the other side of the coin, Turner racked-up a 5th place points finish and competed in all events during the 2013 Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series chase.

Despite not having the operating budget or resources as some of the front runners in the pack, he knew his team had the experience and equipment to turn in a better effort than the final Saturday night results may have indicated.  In world of short track stock car racing, you're always judged by the quality of your last finish and Turner wants to come out of the box strong for 2014.

"We chased the set-up quite a bit last year at Brighton," admitted Turner.  "The car was either too loose or too tight.  It didn't seem to matter what we changed or how we adjusted things.  Even though it may have been frustrating to 'fight' with the car, things will always get better.  We race with an excellent group of drivers and they're always ready to offer an opinion.  Everyone wants to win when the green flag drops, but we all work together when someone is having trouble getting their stuff hooked-up."

Armed with a wit as quick as his racecar, Turner's natural exuberance is perfect for building relationships with fans and sponsors.  For 2014, the #92 ATR machine will be backed by Village Variety & Gas Bar, The Work Gear, Mark Heating & Cooling, Paul Turner Auto Repair, Billings Automotive, Valleau Haulage, Rez Boyz Custom Wheels, Tires & Accessories and Corbash Auto Body & Collision Repair.  Team promotional support for the season will be provided by Clarke Motorsports Communications.

"There isn't always a lot of time to visit with the fans, so you have to make the most of the opportunity," said the father of 2 - who'll turn 31 in March.  "You can never tell what kind of connection you can make by just giving someone a few minutes of your time.  In weekly short track racing, our fan base covers a wide range of ages and a positive, friendly attitude can help grow the sport in so many ways."

Fans can get a look at the new colour scheme - with a fresh graphics package by Atomic Sign Works - when Adam Turner's car is part of the annual racing preview show Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 27th to 29th at Frontenac Mall in Kingston, Ontario.
