Varney  ON-  Anyone who has been around short tracks will tell you a full moon can lead to some of the most interesting racing around, but at Full Throttle all it did was provide fans with the best racing to date this season.  In all classes everyone was talking about how tight the racing was and how much more the winners are having to do to even make it the front let alone hang on for the checker.  Plus with new cars and drivers making the trip to try out Friday night racing it only get’s better.

Pro Late Models this week was a mix of returning drivers plus a couple new cars making their first appearances on the highbanks.  In feature one it was 40 Mark Dixon from Durham using his outside pole starting position to his advantage as he got out front and was able to hold the lead until a caution came out at lap 14.  On the restart it was Dixon on the inside and 1 Kent Nuhn from Desboro on the outside who had been on the rear bumper of Dixon since mid way in the race.  Then on the restart Nuhn was able to take advantage on the start and get to the lead and hold off the rest of the pack for the checker.  Second was 11 Cole Weber from New Hamburg, third 12 Justin McLellan from Mount Forest, fourth 83 Dale Shaw from Guelph and rounding out the top five 40 Mark Dixon.  For video of this race go to  http://youtu.be/mcMvbYyg8yg?list=UU6fAn1rLsk_0FWitF4dpApw
In feature two  all the action took place at the drop of the green flag when pole sitter 17 Kyle Woods of Mount Forest missed a shift coming off of corner 4 stacking up the inside line allowing 11 Cole Weber and the rest of the outside line to get an early jump on the field.  Weber would use his early jump to make some ground on the field leaving the real race for second place and at the line it was 83 Dale Shaw by a close margin over 1 Kent Nuhn, fourth would go to 40 Mark Dixon and rounding out the top five was 77 Alvin McNicol from Exeter.

V-8 Thunder Stock action this week also provided to be the closest to full moon racing of any division with three cautions in the early part of this race for spins but once the drivers had that out of their systems it was all racing.  With cars being very closely matched in this division two cars would find themselves battling for first and second in both features.  Starting near the back in feature one and having to work through the field it would be 17 Tristan Gill from Waterloo taking both feature races followed in both cases by 01 Brandon McConnell from Tara.  Third in feature one went to 277 Ray Flynn from Clinton, fourth 05 Steve Brook from Hillsburgh with fifth going to Dave Grey Jr from Hanover.  In feature two again after much close racing third this time would go to 18 Terry Pardy of Mount Forest, fourth 5 Dave Grey Jr and rounding out the top five 277 Ray Flynn.

Mini Stocks continue to provide some of the most exciting racing each night on the highbanks with a field of cars that on any given night anyone of them could find themselves in victory lane.  In feature one it was two of the top ten ranked mini stock drivers in the Province battling to the checker and in this one it would be 51 Clark Hartman of Waterloo over 36 Cory Young of Owen Sound, third went to 7 Paul Boyd of Harriston, fourth 34 TJ Edwards from Fergus and rounding out the top five 9 Tessa Cremasco from Mount Forest.  Feature two of the night would see one caution but a costly one for Hartman as it meant he would have to try to come from the back of the pack.  In the end it would be 36 Corry Young back in victory lane, with the race for second going to 50 Chad Corcoran from Milton by a small margin over 51 Hartman, fourth 7 Paul Boyd with fifth gong this time to 73 Scott Schlueter from Milverton.

Pure Stock this week had a couple new rookies take to the highbanks and a car change for another driver hoping to uncrown the 17 car from victory lane.  In feature one though it was more of the same as 17 Nick Clarke from Mount Forest would work his way to the front.  Second would go to 14 Luke Bos of Conn, third 34 Don Tremble from Durham, fourth 66 Doug Lapard out of Owen Sound and rounding out the top five 4 Jesse Lamont from Hanover.  In feature two 4 Jesse Lamont would use starting pole position to his advantage but is wasn’t enough as with five laps to go the 17 Nick Clarke would finally get past him making it a race for second place with the 14 Luke Bos edging out 4 Lamont, fourth would go to 34 Don Tremble and fifth 43 Joey Schouten from Mount Forest.

Crazy Trains this week had two features to trade paint samples and they took full advantage of both chances with a lot of hard racing and a few near roll over’s.  In the end in feature one it was Here We Go Again out of Listowel followed by Rockford Rednecks, third Texas Traincar Massacre out of Mount Forest, fourth Road Rage Therapy from Mount Forest and fifth Jonathon Bates Roofing out of Owen Sound.  Feature two was won by Rockford Rednecks, second Texas Traincar Massacre, third Here We Go Again, fourth Jonathon Bates Roofing, and fifth Road Rage Therapy.

Next racing action is this Friday July 18 for Open Wheel Modified, Outlaw 4 Mods with a $1000 to-win bonus if one driver can win all three 20 lap features, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks and a $200 to-win King of the Hill spectator race at intermission.  Also don’t forget to check out our web site www.fullthrottlespeedway.com for all the information on our Aug 1, 2, 3 long weekend show featuring racing Friday night “Military Night” ,followed by our first annual Motorcycle Jamboree Saturday and Sunday, swap meet, live bands and more ALL weekend for just TWENTY DOLLARS.
