Auto Clearing Motor Speedway
Race Report for June 20, 2015

It was a scheduled weekend off for race teams as an outside rental was
set to take over Auto Clearing Motor Speedway for the weekend.
Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans and decided to deliver us
some (much needed) rain.

Without any races to talk about, this gives us a chance to give a few
words on the race season so far, along with the top drivers in each
division.  In general, every division has shown they are competitive in
2015 with close racing whether for the front, the middle or the back of
the field.  The track has also shown it is getting faster as it ages,
with almost every division setting to track time trial records already
this year.

In the Crime Stoppers Bandoleros, with drivers from the ages of 8 to 14,
10 cars have hit the track this year.  The battle lines are clearly
drawn between the #18 Tyler Emond from Leduc and Kelsey Toth driving the
#22 from Leask.  Each have won a feature and run at the front in the
heat races.

The Golf’s Car Wash Mini Stocks have been on the track three times, with
the #41 Street Wise Service Dodge Neon of Jamie Tataryn taking two
feature flags home.  Sophomore driver (at 14 years) Cole Nixey with one
feature win is the closest challenge in the #23 33rd Street Auto Acura
Integra.  The other veteran driver in the division, #92 Brennan Kirton
(at about 20 yrs old) will get his car figured out and bring it on.  You
can count on that.

Up to the Golf’s Car Wash Street Stocks, the early battles have been
between the #28 Ghost Transportation Camaro of Brennen Forseille and #42
Nicole Sheetka in her Rainbow International Restoration Malibu, the
latter having a feature win.  Kevin MacLaggin and the #3 BDI-Canada
Camaro will be the car to watch as he clearly out drove Forseille in the
last feature to take the win in the last lap of that race.

In the Earth Works Sask Legends, as expected the #21 of Blake Erb and
the #90 of Danny Meier sit atop the points and each show a feature win.
#84 AJ Morrison is only a point off second place though and may have a
different opinion of where the top two will finish the year.

Moving to the ever popular Tiger Automotive Pro Truck Division, Kevin
Dyck has jumped out front with an 18 point lead over Andrew Hardy.  The
#10 Wheaton GM Silverado and the #15 D&S Developments Dodge Ram each
have a feature win.  #94 Ben Pogoda and #49 Shantel Firth are tied in
third sitting only two points back.  Both know how to win and will
continue to be a challenge through the rest of the year.

The Shell V-Power Sportsman Division have only hit the track once so far
this year with Matthew Shirley picking up that feature flag and the
points lead in his #12 Co-op Grand Prix.  There are too many competitive
racers in the division to predict what the future holds, but you can bet
Ben Busch and Nick Allen are not going to let Matthew assume the
championship.

And finally in the WSSL Auto Parts Super Late Model Division, two names
you don’t hear a lot of each have a feature win and sit at the top of
the points.  Howard Crossman took the first night feature in his #56
Cindy Moleski Photography Impala, while Rob Janzen and his #17 J&A
Heating and Plumbing Toyota Camry took the second flag home.  Jim
Gaunt’s #55 Sky Financial Impala SS sits third.

Racing this week goes Wednesday night with the WSSL Super Late Models,
the Tiger Automotive Street Stocks and the Golf’s Car Wash Street Stocks
all hitting the track starting at 7:05pm.  Gates open at 6:00.

We’re back again on Saturday, with the Shell V-Power Sportsman
showcasing their cars in the Race-for-a-cure 75, a fund raiser for
cancer research.  Joining the Sportsman division are the Golf’s Car Wash
Mini Stocks and the Golf’s Car Wash Street Stocks.  Gates open at 5:00
Saturday, with racing at 6:05pm
