I actually don't know.  I just talked to Brad today, for the first time since the season ended.

Sorry, my guess is yes tho, I think we'll know for sure this weekend.

Is Brad going to be at CPT?

  >:(  Is anyone going to race at GBS? We've pulled our sprints and geared up for Chestermans and unless there is a management change we'll just park the trucks, it isn't worth the hassle.

Grandbend Speedway is on the list of exhibitors for CPT in London where i would think they will have their schedules available.
I know 5 or 6 Flamboro mini stocks that want to see what they have on Sundays.
The track is on the CANAM midgets schedule 3 or 4 times.
I'd like to see another SS/th invitational there.
Alot of people still dont know about this place and how family friendly it is.

went to the show they had a spot there nobody to be found they set up  and must of left no news about racing schedule just left little information papers on a chair.
this is not good when his competition track are there and handing out there flyer and talking to people.
you must help your self before asking your members to keep helping your suppost to be the owner promotor get it together

Don't know what time you were there but I was there Saturday morning and talked with them for about 20 mins. I was more interested in their drag racing plans but we had a good conversation about how the complex was doing, their future plans etc. There were two of them manning the booth, maybe they were on a break / lunch  ???

Ernie .... it sounds like you are confusing the grandbend speedway with the motoplex. The motoplex is the drag strip, the speedway is the quarter mile tri-oval across the fence at the end of the pits for the drag strip. The operation and promotion of the two are separate.

JCAR is the organization for the 1/2 scale stock cars/trucks that race at the speedway.

If the Grandbend Speedway booth is lacking in brochures and staffing it is most unfortunate as they will need all the good promo they can get.

Sorry I was under the impression that they had the same owners as their website has a common front page then a link to the strip or the oval. I was always a little confused as to how things work there with the strip the oval and the motocross track.

My bad  ;)

we were at the CPT show and talked to Brad, Sue, Mike and we picked up a schedule at the show. looks like it will be an exciting season. don't know how anyone missed the booth. There was a 6.5 hp micro sprint and 440 in the GBS booth and beside there was the traveling series booth with Brady Smith's new mini truck  and championship winning jcar in it
The schedule is now on the website I know that it was done on Friday just before the show.
also talked to brad about whats going on at the track. appearantly hes busy building 2-3 mini trucks and 5-6 new jcars for customers. looks like we're going to have full fields in those divisions hopefully the rest of the divisions will be full too. makes for good racing. here is a link to the schedule. now only if we could get rid of the damn snow.

How many cars do you guys usually get for 4cyl invites? is it competitive or do a couple run away with it?  i wouldnt mind some info on them.  possibility that i could come down in the summer for an invitational, as long as we are off that night too.  I just want to make sure it will be worth the 3.5+ hour drive thats all.

they usually get 4-8 cars and bailey dominates them.

Post by: jcrashm2 on January 27, 2009, 11:44:16 PM
bailey didnt dominate all of them, he had to work a few times against the #53 honda and clark's #51.... they had 10 cars once, but were going to get around 15 the weekend of the rainout, so the word was getting out slowly.

we like that everyone can sit in the one grandstand...so its great for bringing your family to watch...i know one racer that took his wife and kids each sunday to race the invitationals and the wife had never seen the other type cars and now are looking to get their kids started in those...i know we were planning to do some camping and hit the pinery this year but i guess we'll be only doing varney invites again.
