Ranger Robbed @ Riverside
« on: September 23, 2008, 12:34:10 PM »
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned how Ranger was robbed of his first oval win at Riverside this past weekend!

With about 4 laps to go, Ranger had been leading the race for quite some time building up a substancial lead when the caution flag flew for the last time. If the caution hadn't have come out, Andrew clearly would have won the race!

Anyway, Andrew got a good restart, but coming out of 4 to take the white flag, Gibbons got into the back of him, sending Andrew up into the wall. Andrew made a spectacular save (probably going to be the highlight of TSN's race coverage this weekend) and Gibbons got the black flag for his efforts!

Just leading up to the race, Andrew Ranger & crew worked on the car all day, not really fast in practice, so they decided to change rear-end gears to give them a couple of 100 more rpm's for the straightaway. Well the decission from Bill Burns, Andrew's crew chief to change gears & and a few late chassis adjustments turned out to be the right choice as Andrew picked his way through the pack to take the lead and held off several challenges & restarts until Pete Gibbons got to his back bumper! With  Steckley suffering from engine woes, Andrew had a lot to gain, running second in the points at the time, and not many championship points down from Steckley going into KD as well.

Andrew once again got robbed from an oval victory. If you remember he was leading the race in Vernon, until a caution came out, and while pitting his battery went south and had to swap in another, losing laps in the process. Andrew had the car to beat that night as well.

At any rate, I feel bad for Andrew. Andrew had every right to be upset after the race as well too, with the win in his sight and another championship within his grasp taken away in the final laps!

Watch the race coverage on TSN this weekend, it should be a good one! As I told Andrew after the race, if it's any consolation (and it isn't), at least you put on one heck of a show for your fans!

Ranger wasn't robbed, he only cryed he was, and he asked for it anyway's.
If you could only have counted the times that NASCAR's little Pinocchio had hit on Gibbons through out that race, you may have seen it differently.

Ranger hit Gibbons good, at least 3 times, before Gibbons finally put the bumper to him, but as soon as Gibbons did it - NASCAR threw a Black Flag at him.
It just demonstrates another kiss ass deal by NASCAR with Ranger to make sure he comes out on top, and I for one am happy that Ranger got tagged- on the Track, and off the Track.

You see, the little man Ranger made the mistake of going down to Gibbons hauler after the race to tear off a piece of him- for spinning him.
The only one spinning in Gibbons hauler was that little spoiled french kid, and I am sure that himself and his group of Team mates that entered Gibbons Hauler wish they would have just kept there mouth shut and stayed away, because when you send a boy to do a mans job- getting smacked around like a puppet is just what is going to happen.

Peter gave them all five good reasons never to enter his trailer without an invitation, another five reasons for hitting on him and never getting flagged for it, and another five reasons to never bother him again..... Good Job Peter Gibbons.

Poor Peter had to protect himself from the Midgets attack, and NASCAR should be parking the #27 for Kawartha for their attack on a Innocent man, but they wont because they have there heads so far up Ranger's butt, that Andrew is starting to take on a newer face that resembles some of the folks at NASCAR.

Good job Peter, and I hope you didn't crack a finger nail or anything !!!

Just for old times sake- on behalf of your teammates- sponsors- and fans..
Thanks for some of the most memorable experiences over the last 20 years of watching you...and .... is there anyway... because this is your last race anyways....
That you could wall the wall mart #27 and make us all happy ???

Everyone that was there or has heard from those that were, said Ranger got away with allot of stuff. My reply is, he has- he does- and he will.
As long as he is the chosen one then nothing will ever happen to him.
He is in the eye of the beholder-
Obey1konobee and R2D2 of NASCAR watch over him....
Andrew-oid... You have the force, trust the force....
Unless its Gibbons fist !! then your screwed and on your own !!

Tip of the week for Andrew...
Row 18- at Walmart- you will find Huggies Bathroom Tissue.
Its not just gentle on your butt, but will also absorb your tears 45% faster then the leading brand !!

Hearsay, from my view Andrew got away clean everytime and there was no-one to run up the track.

Bitter deception for Andrew Ranger

Montreal, September 22, 2008: Good luck seems to be avoiding Andrew Ranger for the last few races of the 2008 season. On September 7th, during the A&W 300 event on Barrie, Ontario, a fellow competitor sent him into a spin in the opening laps of the race making him lose numerous positions and precious championship points. This past Saturday in Nova Scotia, while almost collecting his first win on an oval, Andrew Ranger was hit hard from behind and sent into the wall with only 3 little laps to go  by Peter Gibbons. Gibbons who had caught up to Andrew following a late yellow flag, forcing Ranger to accept a frustrating 6th place.

Even though Gibbons was immediately penalized for his actions putting him back in ninth place,, the damage was already done. Everything seemed to fall into place during the entire race for Ranger, driver of the #27 Tide / Wal-Mart car. Starting 14th, he was comfortably in the lead with 5 laps to go when the incident put an end to the hope of a well deserved win. “I really don’t understand why he did that. We had the win within our grasp!”

If Andrew Ranger went through the entire range of emotions, his Jacombs Racing team mate, Peter Shepherd, driver of the #7 Ubisoft / Wal-Mart car, had a much calmer Saturday. Qualified in 20th place, his position on the starting grid did not give enormous hopes for the event. However, at the end of a flawless race, he managed to take the 10th place, a second Top-10 in only three starts in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. “Overall, I am satisfied with my result. I was able to climb half the field and finish in 10th. I could not hope for a better result on this track given my starting position.”

There remains only one event to this exciting season. Still third in the championship, Andrew Ranger still has a good chance, despite the unfortunate events of his trip to Nova Scotia, to end the season as the 2008 vice-champion.

The final race is on Saturday, September 27th at Kawartha in Ontario!

The Victory Lap Charity Program

The Victory Lap Charity Program, affiliated to Opération Enfant Soleil in Quebec and to Children’s Miracle Network in the rest of Canada, aims to raise funds to help sick children across the country. Since the program’s inception in 2003, over $700,000 have been raised for 14 children’s hospitals in Canada.

In 2008, the Victory Lap takes an even bigger leap forward and plans to break the $1,000,000 mark in donations since 2003. To do so, the program counts on the support of Wal-Mart stores in Canada, the participation of prestigious brands and on the generous input from Andrew Ranger and Alex Tagliani as program ambassadors.

Having been there myself, in the pits, and watching how Ranger was racing Gibbons, Peter was very patient with him. At the end of the race, it was good, hard racing, and Andrew did not spin out, just lose some positions, and in racing this year, in this series, if they flew the black flag for that every time, a lot of people would have penalized. The thing a lot of people need to watch is how NAscar handles Ranger and his two crewman that tried to attack Gibbons in the trailer when he was alone. Peter did a great job defending himself, as could be expected, and since they entered Peter's hauler to do this, they must be penalized. But here it is, Tuesday, and nothing. peter has done more to make this series what it is than Ranger ever will. It's not going to be the same without him.

NASCAR is scared SH$%LES of Andrew Ranger, and would never fine him because they don't have the balls.
Any other Team pulling a stunt like that by entering another teams trailer with the intent of kicking ass would be parked for at least one event, if not a year, but NASCAR will turn their heads once again because it has to do with the pretty one, Andrew Ranger.

If the shoe was on the other foot and Ranger would have bumped Gibbons, NASCAR would have still black flagged Gibbons for being in Rangers way !!

Its almost like the TV show 'Lost in Space' with NASCAR being the Robot who is always  walking around and yelling "DANGER - DANGER- ITS RANGER- RANGER"...

Morgie- Your on that team.
Please tell me you had enough sense not to make the trip to Gibbons Trailer !!

"DANGER- DANGER-- ITS RANGER- RANGER" Quote from ' Lost In Space'  Robot.

What do you think NASCAR will do about this, as it puts them in a really bad position just to sit back and pretend it didn't happen.

Will they take the side that its Ranger, and do nothing about it as they have since day one.   Good examples:
Ranger purposely takes out Cary Micks after the finish line at Montreal and destroys Mick's car.... NASCAR turns the cheek !

Ranger goes out to qualify at Montreal and comes back into the pits for work.
Under the NASCAR rule, once you take to the track that is your qualifying effort and if you pit your session is over... BUT- Ranger does it and is allowed to carry on qualifying.
Nascar again turns their cheek...

And now this deal where Ranger and his posse go into Gibbons trailer to pick a fight
( only to get their ass's kicked) is a major violation in NASCAR's eye's...
Oh... hold on.... have those little devils turned their cheek's again !!

Everyone that follows the series is seeing the same thing over and over and you cant tell me that NASCAR doesn't have their favorites.  Put any other Driver in the series in that same position and guess what- the 2008 season is over for them- right there- right now.

I say if they are going to allow it to happen and they are going to turn their cheek again on this one, then at least let Gibbon's drag the little bastard out onto the front stretch at Kawartha and beat him until he squeals like a pig...before the race...in front of everyone.

That or Gibbons gets on Rangers back with a whip and rides the little mare all the way around Kawartha's horse track !!

Either one would be fare, and would sell allot of tickets !!
