BRANDON GDOVIC SAYS YES TO EURONASCAR OPPORTUNITY IN SPAIN
Will drive the #46 Windstax PK Carsport Chevrolet SS in the ELITE 1 Division

Daytona Beach, FLA - Fresh off the heels of announcing his return to the NASCAR XFINITY Series, reigning Lamborghini Gallardo World Champion Brandon Gdovic announces plans to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series’ Valencia NASCAR Fest in the No. 46 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS April 23-24 at Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.

24-year-old Gdovic is no stranger to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. He made his debut in 2015 at Autodromo dell’Umbria in Magione, Italy capturing two top-five and three top-10 finishes in four races in the Elite 1 and Elite 2 divisions. Gdovic hopes to duplicate this success in EuroNASCAR’s season opener at the 14-turn, 2.517-mile Valencian road course.

“I am excited about getting to go overseas again to race in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series thanks to our relationship with Anthony Kumpen and Jerome Galpin,” said Gdovic. “Our relationship with the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series provides us with some amazing opportunities. I had a lot of fun competing last year and look forward to racing at a new track.”.
Gdovic will join team PK Carsport, piloting the No. 46 WindStax Chevrolet SS.

Having won the NWES title in 2014 with Kumpen, together with the Elite 2 title and the Teams Championship,  PK Carsport is not only one of the most prestigious and competitive teams in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, it is one of the oldest teams in Belgium. From the mid-80s to the mid-90s, the team won several national and international championships in Rallycross. When the team switched to circuit racing, PK Carsport remained as successful as it had in the past. At the end of the 90s, their main focus was GT racing. The team won nine Belgian titles, seven Zolder 24 Hours, as well as the Spa 24 Hours. In 2009 the team became runner-up in the FIA GT Championship.

Gdovic will join forces again with fellow Precision Performance Motorsports (PPM) driver Anthony Kumpen, as a PK Carsport teammate and driver of the No. 24. Kumpen has raced three NASCAR XFINITY Series races with PPM thanks to the Nexteer Road To Daytona, the program built by NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and Nexteer Automotive to put European drivers on the North American stage.

“We are very happy to welcome Brandon back to EuroNASCAR,” said NASCAR Whelen Euro Series President Jerome Galpin. “He demonstrated great talent on both sides of the Atlantic last year and had a successful debut with us in Italy. The relationship built with Precision Performance Motorsports and our driver exchange program is a great success and we can rely on Anthony and his team to support Brandon as he supported Anthony and Ulysse Delsaux when they raced in Daytona in February. We are exactly where we want to be: helping drivers to race NASCAR both in Europe and in America”.

Gdovic will return to Circuit Ricardo Tormo in November to defend his title in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series World Championship.

Valencia NASCAR Fest at Circuit Ricardo Tormo takes place April 23-24, 2016. Find out more information at http://hometracks.nascar.com/series/whelen-euro-series.
