They are full of it. There heard about my petition and made like they would think of one more race but I knew it wasn't going to happen as each mail I got they made more reasons why it wouldn't happen but never came out and said no until yesterday. They think they look like the good guys, as they will say we thought about it but it wasn't feasible.
Here is part of every email and you will see why I knew it wasn't going to happen.
1st email:
You may be referring to an interview yesterday morning that Ryan Howes gave. The petition was brought to our attention after this interview. And it does remain true that ongoing racing will not continue at the track.
Since the petition was brought to our attention we have been looking at options for holding the race. We appreciate the nostalgia and history of the speedway. But, we are not race operators.
Once we complete the consultation with our advisors we will have a final answers. However, it appears there are hurdles we may not be able to overcome. Namely, liability, the work required to prepare the track and grounds post winter, and the time between now and April or May. We have also been subject to various threats to our main business operations and grounds which must be considered
2nd email:
We have work to do in the space and a three month delay may not be feasible.
3rd email:
After careful deliberation and consultation is has become clear that we are not in a position to permit racing at the speedway. A number of factors influenced our decision. We appreciate the nostalgia and history of the speedway and the passion of its participants and fans. However, we have been advised that the permitting and liability associated with a one off race like this is prohibitive. Additionally, we would be required to wait until post winter, setting our work back a minimum of three months.
They just should have said no instead of making people think there was a chance of one more race.
