#33 micro sprint
« on: March 09, 2008, 08:45:35 AM »
Last year we purchased a used m/s from Chestermans in Tillsonburg. The # is 33, the colour is orange and white and it has a sealed 9 hp honda. The car ran at Grand Bend the year before. If anyone knows the previous owner I'm curious about a few things. My # is 519-443-4008 any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve.

Trevor Pauli ran that kart when it ran last at Grandbend. I believe that he will be running his mini truck this year. Sue/Brad might be able to get you a contact number.

I don't know how many times Tom Crawford drove that car, but I know Tom Kyle drove it for most of the season. Every time I talked to T Kyle he said "ah, just 1 more time"., and ended up driving it for most of the season. PS hope to see you next year in the 440's tigger.

Steve,
I found this by accident by searching for my own name because I was bored. Let me clear everything up for you. I purchased the kart at the end of 2001 from Randy Beimers. He could not move up in points so I got to race the final race of the season. The kart is Weapon Chassis #11 built here in Ontario. All that I know is Jamie Grover owned it before Randy Beimers. I purchased it from Randy. I raced it for 1 year and built a new kart. I had the body professionally painted at Charterhouse Collision here in London where I was working at the time. I gave the freshly painted kart to Randy to race that season and we were to be a 2 kart team...but that never happened due to me going to school. I traded the kart at the end of the season to Louis Desjardin for the #10 mini truck he had bought that season. From there it was sold to Tom Crawford and they modified some of the bars on it. They needed an engine to use so I let them borrow my good 9hp engine that I had freshed up for Rob Nichol #6 to use to sell his own kart. I did not know the Crawford's but a good friend of mine Carey Hickson said they were alright. I think it was sold to Chesterman's and now you own it. What else? This kart was previously a 440 at Grand Bend Speedway and has won some features as well. However, it has also flipped down the front straight of GBS as well when the track was dirt. This kart has won several heat races by Randy and myself but we never could win the big one. I was surprised to see that nobody has wrecked the kart and nobody wants to change the paint scheme. How am I going to paint my kart when I race at Chesterman's??? I hope this information helps you out, but if you want to talk or require more info please give me a call here in London at 519-686-8848 and ask for Trevor Pauli. Thanks and good luck!

I won 1 or 2 features in that mini, I can't remember how may heats (3 or4?), I only ran it for one season before Randy bought it, that kart treated me good.

Have I forgotten anything Jamie? Do you know much about the history before you purchased it? I know that it once was an Ontario Mini Sprint that travelled all over Ontario. I remember watching them at Delaware Speedway but cannot recall which one it was. Any info on Weapon #11 is appreciated.

the guy we bought it off of was named wade, can't remember his lastname, it will come to me eventually, he was a teammate to darrel limon who we had bought our first mini off of. we bought it stripped right down, we had gotten just the frame and the body. it was an ontario mini but he decided to change it over to a 440 car to run at the bend back when they all ran the small tires, he had one wild tumble in it down the front straight at the bend, but that's all I can remember about that kart.

Do you have any pictures of the kart when you bought it and when you raced it? I would be interested in these if possible. I will also try and track down this Wade guy because I wanted to know the history as well. I have Weapon #9 in my shop still and I would like to find out more about this one too. That will have to wait for another time though. Thanks again.
