Hahaha I also forgot to mention that both tires were still on both rims when he came in. and the left front had marks in it rfom where the LOWER control arm broke right at the ball joint.

so no to answer someones comment about a flat makeing that much sparks, a flat tire would not produce that much sparks as seen on the delaware websiteunless the tire perhaps came off of the bead. The rear wheel is pretty much at the end of its travel the nose is down so far.

agreed it sounds like something you wouldnt miss but our crew did.  It was the lower control arm and it moved back into place when we jacked the truck up so the spindle covered the break. live and learn.

From the outside looking in it sounds like Delaware needs new Tech people that don't have any friends that race there. No I'm not interested.  :D :D :D

how is it a bogus rule? its right in the rule book crate motors can some 3 inch up to the muffler after that then its gotta be 2 1/2 built motors can have 0 3 inch. if he had any 3 inch which if db01 is Devon (im assuming) then he admits that he has/had 3 inch when the deducion was given. reguardless to the rumors of an X pipe he got his penalty for that. thus making it a legitimate penalty

so your telling me that its ok for the 16 truck to have 18" of 3" exhaust but not the 01 to have like 6" of that i see how thats fare. i guess with out being friends with jeff you don't get the benifits. and from what i hear that exhaust has been on there since day one of that truck it had 2 feature wins last year and nothing got said.

Kathleen has a crate motor... and jeff made the call that you are allowed to have 3 inch from the already 3 inch header to the already 3 inch muffler with the crate rule package, again I say in the rule book built motors are allowed 0 3 inch, 6 inches of it 5 inches of it doesnt matter, any amount of it is illegal.

not sure which one was in question. Leon came and measured and left, thus why I am confused on the said "warning that we got" and it was the lower ball joint that broke.

Only stock, cast iron or approved manifolds maximum outlet diameter 2-1/2" permitted / approved headers on crate
engines allowed (shorty OE style or same as Super Stock). Exhaust pipes must extend back under truck, and exit
behind driver and outside of sheet metal and away from fuel tank. No inverting manifolds. Exhausts system will consist
of 2 exhaust pipes max 2-1/2" O.D., 2 mufflers (Magnaflow part #11219, IMCO part #7403 or Midas SK124) and one or
2 tail pipes max 2-1/2" O.D. Balance tube between exhaust pipes is optional max 2-½” O.D. A decibel reading of 92 or
less at a 100 foot distance will be strictly enforced. If 3” collector or muffler is used, must be reduced to 2 1/2” OD
immediately exiting or entering component. No merge collectors or “X” pipes, 2 1/2" OD balance tubes OK.  straight from the rule book. i dosen't matter the blame falls on jeff not you guys.

why does it have to be ours that are moved? all you seem to "know" is from what others are telling you. And I dont blame you I guess but you are not the one that measured them on any of the trucks that you have mentioned.
right out of the rule book

"Front upper control arm mounts may be altered but must still be in stock location"

and thats what we did. hence why we havent been penalized.

even if there was something wrong with pauls truck, and im not saying there was as i never looked at it. Maybe who ever measured it figured that having the truck break and lose the champion ship is punishment enough for one evening

OK guys you got to remember one thing here, Paul was the driver of the truck there for he was not the bad guy for building the truck.
Paul and his crew did a awesome job and I think it shows and that's why he won the champion ship.......thanks Paul and your crew.

There was nothing bad about the 88 truck or there would of been a issues .
What they do not want is guys spot welding in the bottom ball joints or suspension bolts and that's what I did.
If you look at my trucks that I build I weld everything like that, all bolt from rear springs to all chassis bolts to control arm bolts,, I tac everything so you can take a good hit and nothing lets you down.
So if you must know since you guys think you know it all there you go.
But like napa55 said why should we have to explane.....
                                              .................Sid
