2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series Schedule Released       
The Rock, a Road Course & Repeat Trip to Canada Spice Up 08 Tour
TOLEDO OH (11-9-07) - The ARCA RE/MAX Series, long recognized as the most versatile touring series in motorsports, has released its 2008 schedule to include 21 events in 13 states and Canada.

A diverse combination of superspeedways, short tracks, dirt tracks and a return to road course racing for the first time since 2001 will help steer the tour into its 56th consecutive season of competition.

"The 2008 schedule maintains our balance of superspeedway, short track and mile dirt state fairgrounds events, all of which are very important to the identity and industry position of the ARCA RE/MAX Series," said ARCA President Ron Drager. "Adding the road course event certainly adds to our diversity. The number of scheduled events remains stable at a level we've found to be appropriate for everyone associated with the series, and we're pleased with the geographic coverage represented by the markets we'll be racing in."

The season, as it has since 1964, will open at Daytona Int'l Speedway with the 45th annual Daytona ARCA 200 on February 9th. The event will serve as a preamble for the same-day NASCAR Nextel Cup Bud Shootout.

Fittingly, the season will conclude at Toledo Speedway, the birthplace of ARCA, as part of the annual championship weekend coinciding with the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series.

In between, the series will appear in a wide variety of venues including new stops at Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina on May 4th, Cayuga Speedway Park in Nelles Corners, Ontario on June 29th and the brand new New Jersey Motorsports Park 2.3-mile road course in Millville, New Jersey on September 28th.

The "Carolina 500" at Rockingham will be the inaugural event at the historic one-mile, high-banked oval since Speedway President Andy Hillenburg took ownership of the property. The ARCA RE/MAX Series raced at Rockingham once on June 10, 1973 where Charlie Glotzbach won the 300-mile event from the pole.

The event at the 5/8ths-mile Cayuga Speedway Park marks the series' eighth appearance in Canada since 1967. The last time the series raced in Canada was at Delaware Speedway in July of 1992.

The event at New Jersey Motorsports Park will mark the 10th appearance of the RE/MAX Series on a road course dating back to 1958 when the series made its road course debut at the now defunct Meadowdale Raceway in Carpentersville, Illinois. The list of road course winners over the years is impressive and includes Fred Lorenzen, Nelson Stacy, Elmer Musgrave, Jack Bowsher, Bob Schacht, Ken Schrader, Darrell Waltrip, Scott Lagasse and John Finger, who won at Watkins Glen in 2001, the last time the series raced on a road course.

Superspeedways returning for events in 2008 include Kentucky Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Daytona, Kansas Speedway, Michigan Int'l Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, Chicagoland Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. The event at Talladega marks the 47th RE/MAX Series appearance at the renowned 2.66-mile Alabama speedplant since 1969.

Short-tracks hosting events include Salem Speedway in Indiana, Toledo, Berlin Raceway in Michigan, Iowa Speedway, and the annual state fair mile-dirt races at the Illinois State Fairgrounds and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

Companion events in 2008 include races with the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series as well as with the Indy Racing League and the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series.

SPEED will return in 2008 with coverage of ARCA RE/MAX Series races as established in its multi-year agreement. The televised event schedule is traditionally released at the Series' championship awards banquet in December.

This should be a good race.  I bought the season tickets this year, so I am hoping for the reward next year.  If they have two NCTS races agiain, pluss OSS and a few others..... wow

ARCA is there on June 29th, thats the weekend the oscaars were there last year, i wonder if they will be going back and if it will be on the same weekend as the ARCA cars, it was ASA last year but i think this would be much better..

 On the ARCA web site they put in there story about their year end banquet the quick look for their 2008 schelude and three Canadian tracks were mentioned that they were going to and they are
 1) Delaware Speedway
 2) Sauble Speedway
 3)Cayuga Speedway
No dates were given but they said they would be relaeased shortly

from some of the smaller events they had on Speed ....Speed would often say "and in the ARCA truck race on saturday so and so won"

so it's a good guess that Saturday-28th will be ARCA Trucks
                                 Sunday the 29th will be the actual ARCA Race


but that's just a guess...

Just to confirm...I talked with Cayuga Speedway yesterday and the ARCA deal is 100% a go with both ARCA Trucks and ARCA Cars. This is great for Cayuga and the fans and promises to be a great show.
One little piece of advise- As soon as ticket sales come out buy them right away because they will not last long.
The Track is looking to add more seating but I think regardless of seating space, tickets will go fast.

This has the potential to be one of the best race weekends Cayuga has had in quite some time...Along with the ISMA race, they will probably do ARCA time trials on the Saturday, and then as the other posts have suggested, run the Trucks and Re/Max cars on the Sunday.  Not sure what they have planned for Friday at Cayuga, but Ohsweken Speedway will be running with their weekly sprint division that night, which I am sure most of you know is just a few miles from Cayuga...

I hope it's promoted well and there is a good fan turnout...I think it's important for pavement racing in Ontario for Cayuga to be healthy.  I'm worried about what they're going to charge for admission though...I thought the price for the OSCAAR/ASA show there last year was pretty steep...

Cayuga Speedway Park To Host ARCA Double Header in 2008
NELLES CORNER, ON (1-11-08) - It's been nearly 16 years since the ARCA RE/MAX Series traveled north of the border. But that will all change this year after Cayuga Speedway Park in Nelles Corner, Ontario Canada signed the 56-year-old tour to a date in 2008.

The .625-mile paved oval will host the ARCA RE/MAX Series on Sunday afternoon, June 29th, 2008 with a 250-lap event.

The race will mark the eighth appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series in Canada since 1967. The ARCA RE/MAX Series first traveled into Canada in July of 1967 to Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, Ontario where Bill Clemons earned the victory in the 100-lap main event.

After a 20-year hiatus, the series return to Canada on May 22, 1987 at Delaware Speedway in London, Ontario where Bill Venturini won the 125-lap race. The next five ARCA RE/MAX Series appearances in Canada were all at Delaware Speedway where winners included Tracy Leslie (August 12, 1988), Bob Keselowski (August 11, 1989, July 7, 1991 & July 11, 1992) and Bob Strait (September 29, 1990).

In addition to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will accompany the racing activity Sunday afternoon at Cayuga with a 50-lap main event. The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series is building its own presence in Canada having already competed at Delaware on three occasions and at Sauble Speedway twice. ALWTS winners in Canada include Brett Rowe (Delaware 2005), Paul Hahn (Delaware 2006 and Sauble 2006 & 2007) and Nick Gullatta (Delaware 2007).

Cayuga Speedway Park, just over a half-mile in length, is wide with relatively flat and sweeping corners, ideal for close, competitive short-track racing - the kind that puts much of the outcome back into the driver's hands.

Set on nearly 300 acres, Cayuga Speedway Park offers fans a full range of amenities including 1,500 campsites, refreshment and souvenir booths and free supervised parking. There is also a covered pavilion, which often serves as a gathering spot to enjoy all the festivities.

Beginning January 31, 2008, US and Canadian citizens 19 years and older who enter the US at land and sea ports of entry from within the Western Hemisphere will need to present government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license as proof of identity, along with proof of citizenship such as birth certificate or naturalization certificate, or a passport. Children age 18 and under will be able to enter with proof of citizenship. Verbal claims of citizenship and identity alone will not be sufficient to establish identity and citizenship for entry into the United States.

It is strongly recommended that all travelers leaving the US verify the specific documentary requirements for their destination country. This info is available through travel.state.gov, or by consulting with the Embassy of the country you are visiting to determine what documents are needed to meet the entry requirements of that country. These requirements could include a birth certificate, passport, or passport and visa for entry into that country.

US Citizens
A verbal declaration and the ability to prove to a CBP officer, if requested, that you claim to US citizenship is valid. Because it is difficult to prove your identity and citizenship without documents, presenting a driver's license and either a birth certificate or naturalization certificate, or a passport, is highly recommended.

8 days until the teams start arriving the for ARCA car/truck weekend at Cayuga. It's nice to see the entry list continue to grow, todays count on the ARCA website is up to 28 entries and I'm sure there will be a few more to come before entries close. Headlining the list is of course RED BULL Toyota driver Scott Speed along with many of the other top drivers. Thinking about pit lane I'm not sure how many stalls there actually are. Does anyone else know ?

For fans interested in the ARCA racing this Saturday the ARCA trucks race at Sauble Speedway with a rain date of Sunday if it happens.As of today 17 trucks are registered to race up there.Thefollowing week is the big Cayuga Weekend can not wait for that weekend should be some excellant racing.

 I noticed today that the Roulo Brothers still don't have a driver listed for the Cayuga ARCA race. I wonder if they've considered Pete Jr. ? He's raced for them before. Why not put a local boy in the car? I saw Petey at Cayuga back in May at the NCATS race and asked if he had anything lined up for this year. One of the races he mentioned that he was trying to work something out for was the Cayuga ARCA race. I'd love to see him get another shot in the #39 car. I hope to see him there.
