Styres running the Chili Bowl
« on: January 06, 2008, 01:02:43 PM »
I see Glenn has registered for the Chili Bowl this year. He is scheduled to try and qualify on Friday. Along with Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne. We will even be able to watch it this year on PPV on Saturday. Good Luck Glenn.

Racer43 seeing that you are planning dirt racing this year have you ever thought of getting into a S.O.S.Sprint car to give it a try

Racerfan44.... we've thought about yes. One thing at a time tho. We'll get our feet wet on the clay in the Sportsman. From there who knows what we can expect. I think my father (car owner) would love to go Sprint racing.... and so would I for that matter. We have always tried to learn as much as we can before we get in over heads. ie mods before the LM's. If we were to jump into the Sprints straight away I think we'd get our butt kicked big time. Not to say that won't happen with the Sportsman, but it seems like the right step.
Having said that if you know someone that would let me give it a try I'm in.
As far as a replay of the Chili Bowl, Im not sure. Probably be on Speed somewhere down the road in a shorter version. Well worth the money to see it tho. Get a few buddies together share the cost and the pops, could be better than the 500 in Feb. Opps.... no way.... couldn't be. Could it?

We'll probably run at Merrittville the most, Humberstone and Ransomville as well. Ohsweken is running two specials I think. All the extra lap races is what we'll focus on. Our website will have the pics and the schedule, if it ever gets updated. lol, hint, hint

Some very strong sportsmen guys in merritville.  Also if you go back to the years before Glenn bought a sprint car he ran at merritville in a mod (bright orange cage and beadlocks I beleive).

Great Event besides a few minor things, the wait between races and the annoying commentary, the pit reports were just retarded, they need a more proffesional crew to cover the event. And for those who missed the little bit they gave on the starter, Canadian Roger Slack, who is son of former Cayuga Racer Randy Slack.

Yea caught that bit. Good to get Roger and Cayuga mentioned. The tv crew was annoying, better than comercials tho. The wait is part of dirt racing. The track took some time to prep but after the abuse its taken all week it was in reasonable shape. Good deal all in all.
