RANGER ROARS BACK FOR TOP TEN FINISH IN MOPAR DODGE

August 26, 2018. Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge were one of the fastest cars on the track all weekend at round number ten of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ontario this past weekend.  That speed helped Ranger overcome a mechanical issue and still post a top-ten result.

During the Saturday afternoon practice Ranger quickly posted a very fast lap in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge but would be limited in his running due to a power steering issue.  The crew would make repairs but rain showers would wash out the qualifying session.  As per the NASCAR rulebook the starting line up was based on practice times and Ranger would begin the 51-lap feature race from the outside of row one.

From the outset Ranger pushed the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge hard looking for the lead and he would quickly moved ahead.  Ranger would wage a ferocious battle as another competitor challenged leading up to the first round of pit stops for fuel.

As the caution flag waved a few laps later a second round of pit stops took place for fresh tires.  The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team performed smooth service getting Ranger back into the battle to resume his fight for the lead.

Shortly past the midway point of the race Ranger found himself with his hands full controlling the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge, the power steering problems had resurfaced and Ranger was forced to make a pit stop under green.  Again the crew hurriedly made repairs to the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.

A stroke of good fortune occurred as another caution flag flew Ranger was given the free pass and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge was back on the lead lap.  It was in the closing laps Ranger pushed hard for every position and clawed his way back to and eight place finish.

“It’s too bad,” said the driver.  “We had a car that could win today.  The Mopar car was very strong.  We were able to get out front right away but we had a bad break with the power steering.  Fighting back at the end you could see how good the car was performing and it’s too bad we didn’t get to fight for the win.  Thanks to the guys for their hard work”.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team are back in action Saturday September 8that the Autodrome St. Eustache in St. Eustache, Quebec.  Ranger is a former winner at the flat, 4/10 mile oval.
