Charlie Sandercock captures Go Nuclear Late Model Series race at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 3, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – Cornwall Motor Speedway had one of their most popular nights as the fans had the chance to meet the drivers at intermission time along with the Go Nuclear Late Model Series and a full program sponsored by Archer’s Poultry Farm.

Andy Mayhew was the early in the 35-lap Go Nuclear Late Models feature with Adam Turner and Charlie Sandercock right behind him. Both Mayhew and Turner ran side by side for several laps. Sandercock made a few nifty moves and took the lead on lap 10. Both Sandercock and Turner pulled away from the field as they hit lap 20. Sandercock made no errors in this green to checker feature and captured the win.

In the 30-lap Bandit Motorsports Modified feature, Stephane Lafrance took the early lead over Kyle Dingwall and Carey Terrance. Current point’s leader, Terrance used the top lane to get to the front on lap 8 and pulled away but Dingwall found something at around halfway point and got closer to the leader as the top 4 ran together in the final laps, Terrance led the final laps to win a very entertaining caution free feature over Lafrance and Dingwall.

Emmanuel St-Denis led the way in the Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman feature as he led the first 3 laps as Mike Stacey brought the caution. St-Denis working the bottom lane with Tristan Draper and Miguel Peterson running behind the leader. Draper used a restart to gain the lead on lap 6 as Justin Lalancette made his way into the top 3. On a lap 8 restart, Brianna Ladouceur made her way to second spot. Draper and Ladouceur were running side by side with 5 laps to and used the bottom to pass Draper in lap traffic. She led the final laps to win her second event of the season over Draper and Lalancette.

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock was the final feature of the evening as Justin Desrosiers was the early leader in the 20-lap affair. Kevin Fetterly took the lead on a lap 2 restart. Fetterly had Dave Seguin as a dancing partner with Ghislain Valade in the top 3. Fetterly managed to hold Seguin as both drivers ran side by side with 5 laps to go. Fetterly led the final to capture his first feature in his Pro-Stock career.

Francis Blanchette was the early leader in the 12-lap Polar Sound DJ Services Mini-Stock as an accident occurred on lap 2 with Marc Dagenais landing on his roof at the end of turn 1 and red flag was out. Blanchette back into the lead with Steve Morin and Tyler French the top 3. Blanchette led wire to wire to capture his first feature of the season and since June 8, 2014.
