Dave Bailey
Dave's got my vote.
& off the top of my head perhaps,
Ashley Taws to NCATS??? Also Rob Starr, Duke Sawchuk, Kirk Hooker, Jason Shaw, Jerry Artuso.
Pete Shepherd, DJ Kennington, JR Fitzpatrick, Don Thomson all full time in Nationwide.
And drivers, I'd like to see back to the NCATS would include Al Turner, Kelly Williams, Kevin Dowler.
Oh and I'd love to see Jr. Hanley one more time race OSCAAR for the Don Biederman Memorial at Cayuga.
-
as awesome as hooker and shaw going NCATS would be, i'd hate not seeing them in LMs anymore
-
I don't see either one going NCATS...It'd be neat, but I just can't see that happening...
-
Speaking of moving up and on word is Sunset Thunder Champ Ernie Fumerton has sold his car anyone know the buyer?
-
I wouldn't mind seeing Andy Farr come back for a race or two..

The car was bought by a man of the name of Rick Butler. Father to Doug Butler who raced a 4cyl this past year at Sunset. He raced some thunder car quit a few years ago at sunset. It will be returning to sunset to run another year as far as i know.

I don't care who really, but I want to see drivers moving into OSCAAR!
-
Maybe they could court some of the disgruntled Auto city/Dixie guys from this side of Flint...

amen! to that brother..

They need more races down here at Delaware/Cayuga/Flamboro for that to work...Nobody from Michigan is going to go to Kawartha/Mosport/Peterborough, etc...on a regular basis.
-
Short of allowing non-Outlaw bodied SLMs into the field, there's no outsiders to draw from that way either...

Now there's irony for you..."allowing non-Outlaw bodied SLM's"...lol

Ya, I have a friend that even races an Outlaw body down at Toledo and I don't even think he can race with OSCAAR. I was asking about that a few times, why he doesn't come up at the end of the season for Flamboro's Octoberfest and Peterboro's Autumn Colours?
I know I'll probably get flack for this but oh well, sorry Roy, but I prefer the looks of the other body style, i.e., Florida body.
-
Your buddy should be able to race with his outlaw body in Oscaar - our body rules are more open than down in the Michigan/Ohio area. It would be more likely we are not able to race with them at their track because of a body.
They are more open on their engine rules - think their only rule us bring a good one. If he was to bring his car up here he MAY have to run a restrictor plate, that I think would be about it.

Perhaps that's it Gord. Anyway it's Guy Pritchard, I'm talking about. When he had his old car he used to come up and race Flamboro and Peterboro. I know he'd like to do Flamboro because he grew up over in Carlisle and he has a lot of friends in this neck of the woods. Next time I'm talking to him, I'll find out for sure, what the problem is? If it's possible, I'll try and convince him to come up and race a few races with you guys. ;)

add Ben Lidstone to the list
kid's got an unreal amount of potential
-
Since he hasnt been mentioned here and I have no idea what his plans are for 08 I'll add Darin Malcolm!!! That guy's got an unreal amount of talent!! In my opinion could be the most talented driver that's raced LLM in the past couple years.
-
was OSCAAR on Darin's to-do list? cause that would be awesome....
-
I'm not really sure to be honest Spencer. I did hear something about Darin wanting to race NCTS this year though. Seems like a big jump and not is skill level from driving a LLM as opposed to a NCTS car I"m speaking of, more in terms of budget. In the past couple years I think Darin has raced more for the fun and sport of it as compared to really desiring to be overly competitive. In the last season he ran for points at Barrie (2005) he won 5 features as well as the Fall Colors that year. So I do think he tries to be competitive and win as well, but my point is that its not the be all to end all with him, as opposed to someone like Walters where thats all that matters to him is winning!!! And I am in no means knocking Tommy at all as I have a great deal of respect for him and his driving abilities. Its just more of a different strokes for different folks in comparing those two drivers. But back to the 2005 season where Darin won all those features he really knows how to come up through the field and seemed to always find his way to the front his ability to negoiate traffic that year even outsurpassed our top runners ( Gaunt, Walters, and Watson) in my opinion!! Lets just hope Darin is racing somewhere this year as I love watching him and you wont find nicer people than Darin and father Brian to gab with in the pits.
-
Hes looking for a ride I was told by Brian. Wanted to look into NCTS but $$$$$. I dont even know if they have the LLM still or if its sold.
-
I HOPE HE's RUNNING SOMETHING
he's a great driver
-
i think that thayne should move up to llm! he is so knowledgable and stuff towards racing! he would be a great improvement to that class maybe darrin mcminn too

I can tell you that darron will not be moving to late model, however thunder is a thought for down the line. i would just like to see thayne in a late, he would prob drive the wheels off it
-
ya thayne would definitly be a interesting throw into the latemodel seen, maybe mccoll or somethin will jumpon board behind him! he is quite the experienced driver! as for darron mcminn, thunder down the road is the best answer
-
Veenstra, you are too funny!
I could handle one, fitting into it would be another thing altogether...lol
-
thayne if a few of the guys who actually run late can fit i am sure you would. and besides you would not have to wory about making minimum weight. lol
-

i'm 5'6" and 260lbs and fit with a little trouble. but i did get stuck in it one sunday.
-
hill i am sure that no one has let you hear the end of that if your
competitors have as long a memory as the guys we race against

I cannot lay claim to that yet! But one day, Iam sure I will figure out a way...i am the clumsiest person you will meet...lol
-
note to self-- enter car feet first looking forward not head first butt in the air.

On the topic of which drivers should move up I think that the wonder kid Myles Jamieson the 35 at Sunset would make an excellent addition to the 4 cyclinder division. Give a few people a lesson in driving. WOW he is fearless.
