May 3rd – 2009 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stevenson Gets First Ever Feature Win at the Coca-Cola Full Throttle Season Opener

A full house was on hand to watch the #10 Bainer’s Radiator Canadian Modified of Elmer Stevenson, from Trenton, win his first ever feature at Brighton Speedway.  The Coca~Cola Full Throttle Season Opener on May 2nd gave Stevenson the chance to start on the outside pole, take control of the race and leave his colleagues in the dust.  It was a great start to the season for the fans, and an equally exciting one for the other feature winners.

The winner’s list included the #11 of Corey Earl from Picton in the Brighton Automotive Pro Stock, the #08 of Roger Croft, from Shannonville, in the Bill's Johns Comp 4, and the #15 of Sean Johnson, from Wolf Island, in the Picture This Signs & Designs Pure Stock.  All four of these Feature Winners have set the stage for an exciting season of dirt flying racing, and have given a challenge to others to take a trip to the Winner’s Circle.

These four drivers were not the only winners on the night as the local food banks will be the recipients of food donations as the Campbellford Chrysler Pace Truck was over flowing from the generous fans that packed the stands for the 2009 opener!

“When all is said and done it was a great season opener.  The cars look spectacular, the 1/3 mile clay oval packed in just right and the racing was exciting. Brighton Speedway fans came through for the local community with their generous bagfuls of food donations.  I firmly believe that 2009 is going to be a great year! It really will be a big show,  with big fun and we’re fairly close to home, for everyone,” Mark Rinaldi, Track Promoter stated after the final checker flew.

The next racing event is the ROCK 107 and VanZuylen Tires presentation of the Holiday Inn Southern Ontario Sprint Cars on May 9th, 2009.  Green flag flies at 7:00pm, but be sure to check out the Lucas Oil Pre Race Show with Huck and Tim in the courtyard at 6:20pm!  For more information be sure to visit www.brightonspeedway.com .
