Another Second Place Finish Highlight Evoy’s Otherwise Rainy Weekend
Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design

August 24, 2010

As with most weekends, Dylan Evoy had a pair of events scheduled this past weekend.  Mohawk Raceway on Friday nights, and Brockville Speedway on Saturday evenings have been the normal weekend plans for the Evoy Racing team from Brockville, Ontario.

On Friday night at Mohawk Raceway, Evoy moved into second on lap twelve and got his chance at the race leader when the only caution of the race came on lap 14.  As strong as Evoy’s car has been, Evoy just couldn’t get past the leader, and settled for yet another second place finish.  Of course, with all the second place finishes at MIR, Evoy has a lock on second place in points, and that is where he will finish when the points are over in just two weeks.

“We had a strong car again tonight.  We say the same thing week after week.  We just need to find a little more.   We have been pretty much even with the 01 car most nights here at MIR”, says Evoy.  “We have just two points races left here, and the Mr. DIRTcar race, so hopefully we can get another win”.

On Saturday, the Evoy team had hoped to race at Brockville Speedway.  All day rain and a forecast for even more through the evening forced track officials to cancel.  With just two races now remaining at Brockville, Evoy sits in fourth place in track points, only 21 points out of the lead.  The battle for the Brockville Speedway Sportsman track champion is the tightest it has ever been with the top six cars having a chance at the title.  Realistically, The battle will come down to one of the first four cars, and Labor Day weekend will conclude the championship race.

This coming weekend, Evoy will have their Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Service, Fireball Performance Automatics, Nan’s Kitchen, RONA, Robotic & Process Automation, Subway, Linde, Unity Savings, RipNET, Charleston Lake Auto Service, Canadian Tire, Thousand Islands Concrete, Pennzoil and NGK Spark Plugs Bicknell car at Mohawk Raceway on Friday night, and then to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night.

Evoy Racing 2010 apparel is still available at the track on race nights.  Stop by the Evoy trailer after the races and pick up your t-shirt or sweatshirt.  You can also contact us at ronevoy@ripnet.com.  T-shirts are $15 and Sweatshirts are $25.
