The Lussier-Seaway Sportsman Series starts this Saturday at Brockville Speedway!

Cornwall, Ontario – Monday, May 18, 2015 – Martin Bélanger, Series Coordinator – The Lussier-Seaway Series will start this weekend as an expanded version for the 4th edition, a new track was added in Quebec with RPM joining the fold as the points fund was remodeled along with laps added to each event.
 
The Series will start this Saturday, May 23rd at Brockville Speedway for the first of six events of the 2015 calendar, last season a total of 38 cars had showed up to Paul Kirkland’s speed plant for the initial race. Mathieu Desjardins had won the event paving the way to his second Series title in a row, Desjardins had finished in front of local stars Dylan Evoy and Shane Pecore.
 
After Brockville, the series will head to the province of Quebec with stops at Autodrome Granby on Friday, July 10 and Autodrome Drummond on the following night. A third event in July will be held at Mohawk Speedway on Friday, July 24th. Cornwall Motor Speedway will be next on the list on Sunday, August 23rd and it will conclude at RPM Speedway on Sunday, September 20th. All events will be 50-lap distance with 30 cars to start in each.
 
The $2,700 points fund will be divided into the top 10 drivers after all 6 events with the champion receiving $1,000 to win all the way down to $100 to the 10th place finisher. The perfect attendance bonus program will be back with nearly $5,000 in prizes including a crate engine from Lussier Chevrolet and Seaway GM, a barrel of VP Fuels and 2 Hoosier tires.
 
Desjardins will be looking for a third title in a row, last season he won the first 3 events and he holds the lead with a total of 5 wins, the Sorel, Quebec drivers is still undefeated in his own province winning all four events. He already has 2 wins to his credit so far in 2015 including his latest one in Cornwall on Sunday. He will have tough competition with Shane Pecore who finished second last season, Pecore has scored 3 big wins so far this season, taking the initial rounds in three different series. Other strong runners such as Dylan Evoy, Joey Ladouceur, Martin Pelletier, Dany Gagné, Kaven Poliquin and several others will be to watch.
