With only two weeks remaining in 2015 season drivers know what they had to do when they rolled through the pit gate Saturday afternoon and fans came out to pack the track as they also know what’s on the line.
The closest battle in points has to be the Late Model division with only fifteen points separating the top five drivers no one could afford getting into trouble but still had to be aggressive enough to make things happen. With heat races out of the way the field lined up for what would be an edge of your seat race for fans and crews and with #17 Josh Stade from Chesley the current points leader lined up inside second row and #8 Jason Parker from Paisley currently sitting number two in points and defending Late Model champion outside of him the fans know they were in for a great race. From the drop of the green #88 Tim Schreinert from Ayton would get the jump over #36 Jason Lagge from Owen Sound and work at putting some distance between him and the rest of the field then eight laps in the caution would come out for a spin by #85 Jeff Lotspeich from Rockwood bringing the field back together again. On the restart #88 Schreinert would continue to stay out in front and lead laps while #17 Stade would battle for second with #37 Marvin Freiburger from Walkerton. Once Stade cleared the #37 of Freiburger he could set his sights on #88 Schreinert who had led every lap so far. On lap fourteen Stade would be able to edge Schreinert at the line to take the lead and in doing so brought along #8 Parker to battle for second with 88 Schreinert as Parker could not afford to let Stade out of his sight. With #8 Jason Parker settling into second it would be time for #2 Tim Ellis from Kitchener to work at getting around Schreinert and into third as he worked to chase down Parker for second. Try as he would #8 Parker would not be able to make up ground on Stade as #2 Tim Ellis kept him Parker busy with the battle for second and #17 Josh Stade would be able to ride his lead all the way to the checkers. Second would go to #8 Jason Parker, third #2 Tim Ellis, fourth #37 Marvin Freiburger and in fifth #72 Junior Farrelly from Guelph. Heat race winners were #8 Jason Parker, #17 Josh Stade, #2 Tim Ellis and #10 Tom Gibbons from Southampton.
In Jr Late Model action it would be #7 Ty Cavallin from Owen Sound taking advantage be an early race spin by #8 Kyle Parker from Hanover to restart on the pole and anyone who has watched #7 Cavallin run knows once he is in clean air he is hard to catch. With the 7 of Cavallin in the lead and #37 Eric Thom from Sauble Beach running in second the battle was for third between #3 Tyson Schreinert from Ayton and #12 Trenton Both from Shallow Lake and as they came off of corner two something seemed to brake in the 12 car putting him into the outside wall. On the restart #37
Thom the current point’s leader would get the jump on the #7 of Cavallin but it would be short lived as Cavallin would regain the lead before they came back to the stripe next time around. Again once the 7 of Cavallin was out in clean air he was hard to catch and that would be the way the race would end up. Checker flag for #7 Ty Cavallin followed by #37 Eric Thom, #3 Tyson Schreinert, #8 Kyle Parker and #12 Trenton Both. Heat winners were #12 Trenton Both and #7 Ty Cavallin.
In Rock Solid Four Cylinder action the field was led to the green by #70 Howard Bentley from Tara but the green would be short lived as drivers tried to go three wide in corner one causing #28 Morgan Robson from Barrie to spin out bringing out the first caution. On the ensuing restart #7 Brain Wilson from Hillsburg would dive to the inside of #70 as they came to the green taking the early race lead. Wilson would hold the lead until lap five when point’s leader #36 Cory Young from Owen Sound was able to get around him and into clean air. With Wilson running second he had to keep his eye on the two quick cars closing in on him #10 William Gibbons from Kincardine and #51 Craig Kamratrth from Owen Sound who started at the rear of the field. It wouldn’t take long before Wilson found himself going from second to fourth as Gibbons and Kamratrth were able to get around him as they set their sights on #36 Young. With nine laps to go #10 William Gibbons was able to overtake Young for the lead and start to run away with it. Which set up a great white flag battle for second between Young and Kamratrth and it would be Kamratrth in the 51 edging out 36 Young for second. Fourth would go to #7 Brian Wilson and rounding out the top five would be #19 Jason Hinde from King City. Heat winners would be #51 Craig Kamratrth, #10 William Gibbons, #19 Jason Hinde and #36 Cory Young.
In Thunder Car action clean air was all that was needed by #16 Zack Casemore from South Bruce Peninsula currently sitting second in points. He was able to get out front and keep in there in front of a very fast group of regular cars in this division plus a couple former champions running part time this season #30 Todd Davenport and #61 Chad Eden. In the end it would be #16 Casemore for the checker followed by points leader #36 Ken Grubb from Walkerton, third #03 Steve Ecker from Hamilton, fourth #77 Jake Zevenbergen and rounding out the top five #61 Chad Eden from Varney. Heat winners were #61 Eden, #16 Casemore, #03 Ecker and #30 Davenport.
