LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGETS; RACINE WINS AT SUNSET SPEEDWAY
It was another nail biting feature finish with Adam Racine and defending Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget champion Mack DeMan while they fought for the lead Saturday night at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity.
Racine, who is still renting the winning car from Mack DeMan said,” Mack is a habit I can’t shake” and that he didn’t know if he wanted to “race his own car”. Racine also thanked the fans, family and sponsors.
Saturday night’s Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget race saw a flurry of excitement with Adam Racine and Mack DeMan battling for position from the drop of the green flag, sometimes making bold moves and taking chances like splitting between 2 cars in turns 3 and 4 making it 3 wide while charging forward.
Racine, who started mid pack in 8th, made quick work of the field capturing the lead from pole sitter Jeff Blackburn on lap 11. Once in the lead Racine was able to pull away from the field while DeMan, who started 7th, followed close behind. Together the two talented drivers pulled away from the field leaving the likes of Ryan Fraser, Adrian Stahle, and Darren Dryden all battling for position. As the final laps wound down Racine and DeMan were turning up the heat as they were nose to tail for the last 2 laps. As Racine and DeMan rounded turn 4 for the final time DeMan was able to get along side of Racine going wheel to wheel, as they charged the finish line, it was Racine who triumphed by a mere nose.
In a complete déjà vu finish from the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget feature the week before, your top 5 drivers are 1. ADAM RACINE, 2. Mack DeMan, 3. Ryan Fraser, 4. Adrian Stahle, 5. Darren Dyrden.
