New Pro Challenge Blog
« on: October 12, 2009, 06:14:59 PM »
Hi folks,

I've started a new blog site for the Ontario Pro Challenge Series, where I'll be providing off-season news, driver profiles and updates, and interesting gossip.  The idea is to provide Ontario racing fans with better awareness of the series, which is continuing to grow.  With an expected 20+ cars for 2010, the series is going to be a great addition to the racing events at many tracks next summer.

To check out the blog, head to the following link and become a 'Follower' to get notified whenever I post a new story:

Welcome aboard Rob. This is an excellent initiative for the benefit of all the drivers and teams along with the well being and growth of the series itself. Your blog will catch on fast as does the Ontario Pro Challenge Series with amazing growth and interest.
You are right. There will be more than 20 cars for 2010. Maybe 24 if we are lucky. Look forward to following this and seeing you at the track next season.

I appreciate the note.  I've just made my second blog post, a little overview of the car and the series and I'm close to completing a quick review of the '09 season to get a little history built into the site.  After that, it will be a profile on reigning champion Dennis Thomson.  I've got a long list of editorial ideas that I'll be working through.  We just need to get the word out to everyone so that we can get some 'Followers' linked to the blog.

Hello Rob

You could also send us any related press releases here and will post them.

I'm not a series official, only a new driver for '10 who wants to help build awareness of the program through this blog.  So at this time, I won't be involved in sending out any official press releases.  The blog is a private undertaking with the sole purpose to educating Ontario race fans on this great traveling series.  I expect that we'll be coming to 6-7 tracks next summer, and it's always cool for the spectators to know a little about the drivers they're watching on-track.  The Ontario Pro Challenge is a very exciting series that features close racing, and it's the perfect addition to any event on our 1/4 mile and 1/3 mile tracks.  I'll publish the 2010 schedule as soon as it gets confirmed.

I do appreciate the offer to run releases, and I'll pass this on to the series officials.

I've posted my 'Champions Profile' on Dennis Thomson, who is now a seven-time champion of the Ontario Pro Challenge Series. I'm now working on a piece looking at the new drivers who are expected to debut in 2010, as well as a profile on the '09 Rookie of the Year Robert Coverdale.

The link remains the same - http://prochallengeonline.blogspot.com/

As I quoted in my blog, Dennis is 'going no where'.  There is a serious market for good used cars and to help build the series, DT let go of the title-winning Taurus to add another chassis to the grid.  Our problem is Thomson with a new ride...damn.  ;-)

Hi folks,

With the new season of Ontario Pro Challenge racing about to get underway, I've posted as short piece to my 'Pro Challenge Online' blog, essentially setting up for a couple of preview pieces heading into the opener at Flamboro on May 8.  It's going to be a great season, and the new influx of new racers will certain turn some heads.  When the series comes to your track, make sure you're in the stands!
